This month is World Autism Acceptance Month!
Autistic people face discrimination and barriers across all sectors of society – the health and social care systems, education, employment and many other core measures of life outcomes. This month highlights how important it is that autistic people have access to support, funding and opportunities to tackle prejudice, discrimination and improve inclusivity.

Happy International Day of Transgender Visibility!
Each year on March 31, the world observes Transgender Day of Visibility (TDOV) to raise awareness about transgender people. It is a day to celebrate the lives and contributions of trans people, while also drawing attention to the disproportionate levels of poverty, discrimination, and violence the community faces.
Today, we celebrate our colleagues, patients and everyone in the community!

Happy Lunar New Year to all our patients and staff that celebrate!!
Lunar New Year is a celebration of the arrival of spring and the beginning of a new year on the lunisolar calendar, and this year is the Year of the Horse - fun fact, horse's eyes are some of the largest of any land mammal, meaning their vision range is about 350°, with approximately 65° of this being binocular vision and the remaining 285° monocular vision!

Happy Friday!!
Today we have some exciting news, that the GNDESP will soon have OCT screening, and our screeners have been getting stuck in with training! OCT machines use light waves to create cross sections of the eyes, so alongside our retinal photography, we'll be able to look at the layers of the retina and optic nerve fibres - coming to an eye screening clinic near you!
Thank you to Joe from Canon UK and Sense Medical Limited for all the expertise!
