Move Well Nottingham

Move Well Nottingham Kim Williams, BTEC L5 Performance Soft Tissue Therapist (NLSSM 2013). Sports and Remedial.

Kim trained at North London School of Sports Massage (NLSSM) and is not only SMA registered but also Regional Director for East Anglia and East Midlands. Works at H3Performance near Sneinton Market and home visits within 5miles from Southwell. Also
- Lead Therapist to Paviors RFC (RFU Level 5 Midlands Premier noting potential that the RFU may restructure the leagues for 22-23 season)
- Sports Massage Therapist at AIMAG 2017 in Turkmenistan working within the MDT based in the polyclinic
- Second Therapist to Outlaws Rugby League Nottingham
- Pitch side first aid at BUCS (British Universities and Colleges Sport) (national)
- Lead Therapist to NLD RFC Men's Senior First Team in their county competitions 2019 (national)
- 2014 Tennis Aegon Cup Nottingham

- An understanding at a cellular level and a vast range of techniques to adapt each treatment for each individual.
- Kim also looks at postural deviations and biomechanics.
- Kim’s goal and ethos is to treat the cause not just the symptoms. Helping people improve their health, fitness and wellbeing so they can not only achieve their goals, but defeat them smiling and looking for the next challenge.
- Having competed and worked both independently and as part of a team, I found this has enabled me to adapt to the client and/or environment in my work as a Sports Massage Therapist. Riding at advanced level dressage has given me an extremely sensitive touch whilst my training in sports psychology when competing at national level has given me an understanding into the mental challenges. My education and work experience in law has developed my brain to consider many avenues, what they involve and their outcomes in a subjective and objective manner and thus, a treatment plan specific to that client can be developed. Both law and dressage have given me a sharp eye which has been beneficial in analytic assessments.
- Sports massage is not just for sporting individuals, it can also help with various medical conditions such as arthritis, post cancer surgery (both returning the scar tissue and surrounding area back to it's functional self again and increasing confidence), carpal tunnel syndrome, stress, back and neck pain, insomnia - the list is endless!

  • Kim is the sole Sports Therapist for Paviors RFC (Winners of the Nottingham Cup 2015-2019 becoming "Best In Nottingham" for 5 years!), and takes over from Head Nottingham Trent University Physiotherapist and her team between the rugby union off season and works for Nottingham Outlaws RLC. This involves both pre and post match treatments, pitch side first aid, and sports therapy at rugby training.

  • Part of the Multi-Disciplinary Team at the Asian Indoor and Martial Art Games (AIMAG) 2017 in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan. Teaching sports massage to local volunteers, treating athletes from all disciplines, managing the cryotherapy provided (ice baths), and working in harmony with other medical professionals. I made many friends from locals, athletes and medical professionals and it was an amazing experience.
