I qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist in 1984. I now have 34years experience. In that time I have attended many post-graduate courses and I was a Clinical Supervisor on the Sheffield Hallam University Post-Registration Combined Manipulation Course.
I have worked for many years in the Public Hospital sector specialising in treating neuro-musculoskeletal conditions both in the United Kingdom and in New Zealand. I am a credentialed McKenzie Institute member.
I have been working in the private sector for the past 8 years.
I am a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy, the acupuncture association of chartered physiotherapists, PhysioFirst and I am HCPC registered.

Introducing a new member of the team - Gerry Hale

Gerry trained as a psychiatric nurse at the Bethel Royal and Maudsley Hospitals in south London and worked for many years as a Community Mental Health Nurse in inner London. He retrained to be an Osteopath and graduated in 1996 from the British College of Osteopathic Medicine. Ever since then Gerry has sought to find a workable framework in which to address both the Mind and Body aspects of the issues that cause us pain and dysfunction. All too often we address either the one or the other side of that coin, and consequently repair is often prolonged or incomplete. Gerry has spent many years studying and retraining in different therapies and modalities. He has found a framework that beautifully addresses this mind/body approach and has been working with it for several years, with great success.

PSYCH-K® is a process that addresses simply and directly, the subconscious beliefs that limit us and stop us from reaching our full potential. The process is incredibly effective and changes can occur rapidly, often within the session itself. The objective of the processes is to bring about a “wholebrained” view of the issue, and this enables access to the subconscious belief. Once the belief is modified, there tends to be a corresponding reduction of tension around the issue, things start to flow better in one’s life, and related physical dysfunction reduces or disappears completely.

Hello all, I would just like to share before and after pictures of a patient who was under a personal trainer and struggled to do a press up. Whenever he attempted a press up, the right shoulder blade would move away from the chest wall. I could literally get all my fingers under the shoulder blade!!

He was assessed and diagnosed with right serratus anterior muscle weakness. This was probably caused by an injury he suffered years ago where he fractured his right collar bone.

He was provided with exercises to perform daily and after 1 week the shoulder blade moved less from the chest wall. He is now capable of doing numerous press ups and his right shoulder blade is stable.
