Important notice to our patients.

We’re very sorry to share that, after our front window was smashed overnight, we are currently unable to gain access to the premises and we’re currently not open.

This has been very upsetting for our team, and particularly difficult as we are an independent opticians providing NHS services to the local community.

The damage is being dealt with as quickly as possible, and we will let you know as soon as we are back open.

World Autism Awareness Day 💙

For some people, bright lights, glare and busy visual environments can feel especially uncomfortable. Visual comfort matters, and understanding light sensitivity is an important part of more individual, supportive eyecare.

At Jaysons Opticians, we can help with this in practice. Alongside advice on comfortable eyewear and glare reduction, we also offer Visual Stress Assessments. These assessments are usually carried out after a full eye examination, using the ReadEZ System. They can explore whether coloured overlays or tinted lenses may help with visual stress and light sensitivity.

If you or a family member experiences visual discomfort, headaches when reading, sensitivity to bright light, or struggles with visual comfort day to day, we’re here to talk through the options in a calm and supportive way. Visual stress can affect both children and adults, and may be linked with sensitivity to bright light, headaches or migraine.
