Information from MHA:
From 1 April 2024, we are making some changes to the services we provide at MHA Aldersgate as the retirement living scheme becomes housing only. This means we won’t be providing care and support for residents if they need it and withdrawing the wellbeing service. This will help save residents around £80 a month. In addition, the catering service, currently used by a small number of residents, is being stopped.

We will be working with residents who receive a care package to find a new provider, as well as working with those who use the meals service.

The changes MHA is making will mean changes to the staffing at Aldersgate. We are consulting with all those affected by these changes and, where possible, will be offering them other suitable positions within MHA if they want to stay working for us.

The changes are being made partly as a result of feedback from people who have considered moving to Aldersgate but who decided not to move in due to the high cost of the wellbeing charges, as well as the catering contract making a loss which cannot be sustained.
