Mary Ann Evans Hospice As a Hospice, we provide end of life care to people who have a life limiting illness, such as cancer, motor neurone disease, or heart failure.

Care and support is offered to our patients and their families of all cultures and faiths. The Mary Ann Evans Hospice offers a warm and welcoming home from home environment and was established to enhance the quality of life to people who have a diagnosis of cancer and other life limiting illnesses. Care and support is offered to our patients and their families/carers of all cultures and faiths, what ever their needs:- physical, emotional, psychological, social or spiritual. The Day Hospice provides care for up to 15 patients a day Monday to Friday and the Hospice at Home Team offers dedicated care and support to patients who choose to be cared for in their own home. The dedicated team consists of a Staff Nurse and Senior Health Care Assistants who have experience working with palliative care patients. They provide regular respite visits, usually 3 - 4 hours in length, to enable carers to take a well earned break. The service is available 7 days per week 7am – I0pm and we also offer a limited night service from I0pm - 7am. Respite, personal care, support visits and phone calls are accessible on an individual basis within available resources. All care give is free of charge to those attending the Hospice.

Last week, we were visited by Tim Healey from The Miners Arms Nuneaton, where he presented us with a cheque for the generous amount of Β£1,100πŸ’œ

This money was raised through various events they held such as a raffle, blackouts, pig racing and more. They then kindly decided to donate the funds raised to Mary Ann Evans Hospice!

On Monday 1st December, Roy & Denise Davenport held their annual Christmas Light Switch On at their home to raise money for Mary Ann Evans Hospice! πŸŽ…πŸŽ„

This is the 9th year that the Davenports have hosted this special event to raise money for the Hospice, and in the past 8 years they have raised a huge Β£6495.92 from it - every year we are blown away by how impressive it is!

We are so grateful to the Davenports for continuing this tradition and choosing to support Mary Ann as part of their light switch on. Emily and Gary from our Income Generation team both attended the light switch on this year, as well as lots of local families gathering in attendance despite the rainy weather✨

The lights (Located at No.4 Cromdale Close, CV10 8NS) are switched on every evening should you wish to pass by and have a look! A huge thank you to our friends, the Nuneaton Ukulele Jam Band 2025, for performing at our Christmas Fayre last Saturday. They also provided an extra special gesture on the day with a wonderful donation of Β£1,600. πŸ‘
The Nuneaton Ukulele Jam Band plays regularly within the local community and supports our hospice by raising money whilst they perform.
This is the second cheque they have presented to us since the start of 2025, raising a total of Β£5100 during the year. We are so very grateful for their dedication and commitment to supporting Mary Ann Evans Hospice. Thank you πŸ’œπŸŒ»

On Saturday we hosted our annual Christmas Fayre. This year it was held at our brand-new store, Mary Ann’s Marketplace, in the Ropewalk.πŸŽ„πŸŒ»

Ukulele Jam Band 2025 kicked off proceedings playing some festive Christmas songs, whilst customers enjoyed browsing the various stalls and fun activities on offer.

We had lots of excited children visit Santa in his amazing grotto and take part in decorating snowman biscuits and making reindeer food too. Even the mischievous Nuneaton Grinch joined in the fun and made a surprise appearance!πŸŽ…πŸ’š

A brilliant time was had by all, and we thank everyone for coming along and making this event such a success. πŸ’œβœ¨

This group meets on the first Wednesday of every month, and sessions include information, advice, and guidance whilst offering an informal and friendly space for those who need it.

An exciting reminder that our Christmas Fayre is taking place tomorrow - Saturday, 29th November!!πŸŽ„βœ¨πŸ“†

Please do come and join us for a festive-filled day, from 10 am until 4 pm!

Santa will be in his grotto, there are raffles and tombola’s to take part in, a wonderful selection of Christmas gifts available to purchase from the many stalls that are joining us, sweet treats to enjoy, and much more!πŸŽ…πŸŽŸ
