Mary Ann Evans Hospice As a Hospice, we provide end of life care to people who have a life limiting illness, such as cancer, motor neurone disease, or heart failure.

Care and support is offered to our patients and their families of all cultures and faiths. The Mary Ann Evans Hospice offers a warm and welcoming home from home environment and was established to enhance the quality of life to people who have a diagnosis of cancer and other life limiting illnesses. Care and support is offered to our patients and their families/carers of all cultures and faiths, what ever their needs:- physical, emotional, psychological, social or spiritual. The Day Hospice provides care for up to 15 patients a day Monday to Friday and the Hospice at Home Team offers dedicated care and support to patients who choose to be cared for in their own home. The dedicated team consists of a Staff Nurse and Senior Health Care Assistants who have experience working with palliative care patients. They provide regular respite visits, usually 3 - 4 hours in length, to enable carers to take a well earned break. The service is available 7 days per week 7am – I0pm and we also offer a limited night service from I0pm - 7am. Respite, personal care, support visits and phone calls are accessible on an individual basis within available resources. All care give is free of charge to those attending the Hospice.

We’re thrilled to announce the return of our Jolly Jumper Campaign this year! 🎄

On Thursday, 11th December, we’re inviting local schools, businesses and supporters of Mary Ann Evans Hospice to wear their jolly jumpers and help raise vital funds for our hospice.💜

Your participation in Jolly Jumper Day helps our local community come together and reflects the true spirit of the festive season.

Not long now! Our Christmas Fayre is taking place on Saturday, 29th November!✨

Please join us for a festive-filled day, from 10 am until 4 pm! Meet Santa in his grotto, take part in raffles and tombola’s, purchase some Christmas gifts from the many stalls that are joining us, enjoy some sweet treats, and much more!🎅🏼🎄

We are excited to share that this year’s Christmas Fayre will be taking place at our brand new store – Mary Ann’s Marketplace, located in the Ropewalk Shopping Centre, Nuneaton.

We are pleased to share some lovely photos from October’s Green Therapy Group session. 🍂

The group planted some spring bulbs in the raised beds and centre planter in the hospice garden, which should provide a lovely show of colour in spring. 🌷

The group also got creative with some pumpkin carving, creating some wonderful sunflower designs. They were displayed in The Warren to brighten up the reception area.

As comes to a close, we’re delighted to share what our Trustees have been up to during their time with Mary Ann over the past few days. 💜

From visiting our charity shops and accompanying staff on patient visits, to exploring different departments and learning how we work together as one team.
Our Trustees found their experiences incredibly insightful, gaining a deeper understanding of the day-to-day work that makes Mary Ann so special.

On the 7th October, Burton Farm Cafe held a Glow Swim event in support of Mary Ann. 🏊🏼✨

This is the second year in a row that they have held this event, and both years it has proved extremely popular, seeing many swimmers get involved to support our hospice whilst wearing fluorescent costumes and glow sticks for the evening swim.

Great fun was had by all, and a grand total of £1,060.32 was raised, which is very impressive, and we are extremely grateful for such a wonderful amount!

Thank you to all who took part, and those at Burton Farm Café for organising such a successful event! 💜

You may have seen the recent feature on BBC Midlands Today where our CEO, Liz Hancock, shared the reality of funding challenges that Mary Ann Evans Hospice faces. Recent reports shared by the National Audit Office (https://www.nao.org.uk/reports/the-financial-sustainability-of-englands-adult-hospice-sector/) and Hospice UK have confirmed that local hospice care is at risk unless greater recognition and increased funding is provided. 💜

Whilst we can offer an insight into the compassionate care and support Mary Ann provides, we feel now is the right time to share with you Chloe & Elise’s story. An inspirational piece that encapsulates the difference that local hospice care makes to patients, and their loved ones, during the most difficult moments of their lives.
