⚠️🟠 The Met Office has issued an amber weather alert for heavy and prolonged rain tomorrow (Friday 14 November) due to Storm Claudia, with a risk of flooding and disruption in the East Midlands.

Around 40-60mm of rain is expected widely across the region, with some places seeing around 80mm. Impacts may be exacerbated by strong easterly winds, as well as thunderstorms later Friday afternoon in and evening.

We are advising residents to check weather forecasts and follow guidance on being safe and prepared during severe wet weather:

🇬🇧 2025 Remembrance Parade - Oakham
🗓 Sunday 9 November
🕑 2pm to 4pm
📍 From Oakham Castle to All Saints Church

🚧 Road Closures and Diversions
A road closure and diversion plan will be in place. Please plan your journey accordingly. The parade will take place across the full width of the highway, and no oncoming traffic will be permitted during the event.

📋 Schedule
• 2pm - Parade forms up and proceeds via Market Place, High Street, Church Street to All Saints Church
• 2:30pm - Church service begins
• 3:15pm - Wreath laying at the War Memorial
• 4pm - Event concludes

📍 Road Closures Include:
Church Street (between public car park entrances)
Church Street/Northgate junction
Church Street/High Street junction
High Street/Market Street junction
Market Place
High Street/Burley Road/Catmos Street/Mill Street roundabout

To help everything run smoothly on Sunday, we kindly ask residents to move their vehicles from the car parks and high street before 2pm. You’ll still be able to leave if needed (except during the parade itself), but early movement will help us keep things safe and organised. 🚗
