All our Christmas donations have now been dropped off

We have dropped presents off at Kettering, Peterborough and Thurmaston Dunelm for the delivering joy at Christmas.

We have also donated food and small gifts to Rutland Foodbank for the Reverse advent calendar

Every year we choose a charity or organisation to donate toys and food for the Christmas period.

We are please to say this year we are supporting Dunelm joy for Christmas, where we have collected gift tags from Kettering, Peterborough and Leicester stores. We have been busy the past few weeks collecting presents ready to take back to the stores this week

We are also supporting Rutland Foodbank where we are currently collecting things off the ‘Reverse Advent Calendar’ ready to drop of to them at the start of next week. (See how you can also support them below)

⚠️ Avoid driving through standing water. Depth can be hard to judge, turn around if you are unsure

⚠️ Driving through flood water creates a bow wave, which can push water into homes and cause damage. Please do not attempt it

⚠️ If surface water does not drain away after rain has eased, report a blocked gully via the flood report form on Rutland County Council website: www.rutland.gov.uk/flooding

⚠️ If water is entering your property or there is an immediate risk to life, call 999

⚠️ Do not walk or drive through flood water, it may hide hazards such as missing covers or debris

⚠️ Do not ignore road closed signs or flood boards as these are in place for your safety. Roads will be reopened in a prioritised manner when safe to do so

⚠️ Keep clear of fast-flowing watercourses and ensure children stay away from swollen brooks or streams

⚠️ Allow extra time for journeys, drive slowly, increase stopping distances and take care on rural roads

⚠️ If you are responsible for a watercourse, check it is clear of debris where safe to do so

⚠️🟠 The Met Office has raised the yellow weather warning to amber for heavy and prolonged rain tomorrow (Friday 14 November), due to Storm Claudia. Please be aware and take care when travelling around Rutland and further afield. There is a medium risk of flooding around Rutland.

⚠️🟡 A yellow warning for heavy and prolonged rain remains in place for Saturday 15 November.
