Still Caring Bereavement Support Group
Monday 9th March - 2pm

The Still Caring Bereavement Support
Group meets monthly at the Oban Hospice Dove Centre. It provides a welcoming, relaxed, and supportive environment where bereaved carers can come together to share thoughts and feelings. Everyone is always warmly welcomed.

Support Services for Individuals with Parkinson's Disease and their families and carers

THE OBAN & LORN PARKINSON GROUP meets monthly at the Dove Centre, Stevenson Street on the second Tuesday of each month, from 1:00pm to 3:30pm This group offers a supportive environment for individuals facing similar circumstances, as well as presentations from guest speakers.

The next meeting will be held on TUESDAY 10th MARCH when we will be joined (cancelled from last month) by a member of the Speech and Language Therapy team from the Lorn & Islands Hospital here in Oban. They will provide insights into their work and explain how they assist individuals with Parkinson's disease.

These meetings are conducted in an informal and relaxing atmosphere, with ample refreshments provided.
The Oban and Lorn Parkinson's Group is a collaborative partnership between the North Argyll Carers Centre and Oban Hospice Dove Services.

Fire Safety Awareness Talk @ The Dove Centre on Wednesday, 4th March at 10am. In partnership with Beyond Vision - Oban and Scottish Fire and Rescue, Oban.
Colin MacLean- Fleming, Community Safety Officer at Oban Fire Station, will be giving the talk on how to make your home safer from the risk of fire

1. Fire Safety within the home.
2. Kitchen and Cooking Safety.
3. Lithium-ion battery charging.
4. Extension leads.
5. Fire action plans.
6. Road safety for elderly driving.
7. Nighttime routines.

The talk is open to the community, and includes refreshments.

Wednesday, the 4th of March (Open to the community) in partnership with Beyond Vision Oban, at 10am. Fire Safety Talk from the Scottish Fire Service. Rising awareness of fire safety in the home. Refreshment will also be available.

With the continued support of the community and our Dove Volunteer Gardeners, colour is returning to corners of our town with the first flowering of plants in the Oban Hospice cared for planters in Gibraltar Street and on Stevenson Street, outside the Dove Centre 🌻…’spring and summer will be bright and colourful’ Thank you for your continued support.

Pink Ladies of Argyll at the Dove Centre on Thursday, the 26th of February

The Pink Ladies offer support to individuals affected by breast cancer and meet at the Dove Centre on the last Thursday of each month from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
