With four birthdays coming up over the next few days Whittington has been a hive of activity. Talented chef Keith has made these beautiful cakes and our Ladies have been busy creating hand made cards. Well done everyone and Happy birthday to Susan, Lillian, Ralph and John 🎂❤️

Happy pancake day! Whittington Residents, visitors and staff all joined together for our annual pancake flipping challenge!

Butterflies was the theme in our art group today and our ladies made a beautiful wall display in our activity lounge. Well done to all our talented ladies 🦋🦋🦋

Last week our new student, Maisie joined our craft group in making friendship bracelets. Maisie is from Sheffield college where she is studying health and social care. We love welcoming students at Whittington, they enhance the residents quality of life through companionship whilst gaining vital, person centred practical experience.

Whittington games day. Today we tried a new game with our students Kelvin and Layla. Just look at the concentration!
Sadly today was Kelvins last day at Whittington. His training is complete and he will be moving on to University to study Nursing. Thank you Kelvin for all you have done for us. We will miss you. Good luck in your next venture and we hope you will pop in and see us in the future 🩷

Celebrating Whittington students! Students in care homes provide immense value by boosting residents emotional wellbeing through increased social interaction, bringing energy and fostering intergenerational connections. They learn vital skills and support our team whilst gaining practical experience. Recently we have welcomed Ruby from Derby university and Kelvin and Layla from Chesterfield college with Maisie joining us this week from Sheffield college. Thank you to all our students for the wonderful work they have done and Congratulations to Kelvin and Layla who passed their practical assessments in social activities last week 🩷

February is Dignity in action month. The theme for 2026 is three little deeds which encourages everyone to perform simple acts of kindness that can significantly impact a persons life. To mark this Whittington ladies have been making hand crafted pocket hugs to share with family, friends and staff. What a lovely idea!
