Young Carers Action Day is an annual event that takes place in mid-March. The next Young Carers Action Day will take part on Wednesday 11th March 2026. The day is organised and led by Carers Trust, and we encourage as many organisations, communities and individuals as possible to take part in the day by taking action, supporting and raising awareness of young carers.

Young carers face a huge array of challenges as a result of their caring role. Many Carers Trust young carer surveys repeatedly shows many young carers are disadvantaged across multiple aspects of their lives, including mental and physical health, finances, education and employment.

The next COVID-19 Day of Reflection will take place on Sunday 8 March 2026.

It will be an opportunity to come together to remember those who lost their lives since the pandemic began and to honour the tireless work and acts of kindness shown during this unprecedented time.

The government affirmed its commitment to the day as part of a broader commemorative programme that was announced last year. We have established resources commemorating the COVID-19 Pandemic which include a series of oral histories, education materials and details of memorials.

International Woman's day!!!

Imagine a gender equal world. A world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination. A world that's diverse, equitable, and inclusive. A world where difference is valued and celebrated. Together we can forge gender equality. Get ready for .

International Women's Day (IWD) has been around for over a hundred years, as have many of the issues still impacting women's advancement. A Fond Farewell!

It is with a very heavy heart that we say Goodbye to our wonderful colleague and friend Carole.
The time has come for her to leave GP land for pastures new, after 40 years of service to the NHS. A remarkable feat and a wonderful achievement, to have served patients for 4 decades!

I'm sure that our patients will be as sad to see her go as the team are.
Carole is a valued member of the Moorside team, her patience and kindness have been extended to anyone who has crossed her path, worked with her, been her friend or indeed spoken to her on reception or the telephone.

She has always gone above and beyond for her patients and is very generous with her time, often comforting patients by being a kind ear.
Her smile will be missed, along with her wicked humor and zest for fun!

Please join us in wishing her all the very best as she leaves the practice and says a final goodbye to the NHS.
She is on to pastures new and we hope she has a long and happy retirement!

All our love to you Carole, you will be missed!
