Bowel cancer Awareness

Bowel cancer starts in the large bowel. It can also be called colorectal cancer. You can find out more on this page about what bowel cancer is and how we can help support you through diagnosis, treatment and beyond.
The bowel is part of the digestive system. It is made up of the small bowel and the large bowel. The large bowel is made up of the colon and re**um.

Cancer that affects the large bowel is typically called bowel cancer. You may also hear it being called colorectal cancer, colon cancer or re**um cancer, depending on where it is found.

The earlier bowel cancer is spotted, the more treatable it’s likely to be.

Cancer that affects the small bowel is called small bowel cancer. For information and support about small bowel cancer, please visit Macmillan or Cancer Research UK’s website.

Cancer that affects the a**s is called a**l cancer. Read more about a**l cancer.

International Transgender Day of Visibility

When we come together, we are unstoppable. On March 31st, we celebrate Trans Day of Visibility and cheer our trans siblings making their voices heard. We are showing up in the streets, at the polls, and in our daily lives.

Right now, attacks on the trans community are escalating. Anti-equality officials threaten our freedoms, our rights, and our very existence, but we are stronger. Our visibility is powerful and when we take action there is no stopping us.

Social Prescribing Day

Social Prescribing Day is an annual celebration of the people, organisations and communities who make social prescribing happen. Since 2019, thousands of local, national and international organisations, link workers, medical professionals, academics and students have taken part across the world.

Every year, we have joined together to hold events, share ideas and highlight the impact of social prescribing on people and communities. Together, we want to raise awareness of what social prescribing is, how it works, and how it changes lives.

For more information please visit:

Social Prescribing Day is on the 26th March 2026 - get involved and share your stories
