๐Ÿ…Top Three Rated & Master Manchester Rated We are a fully independent family run funeral directors, where we pride ourselves on offering a loving, caring, and personal funeral service to the people of Oldham and surrounding areas. Collins & Son Ltd are recognised by the National Association of Funeral Directors (NAFD). Our history is that extensive we are unable to find many records dating to when the companies were first established, we do however have one particular invoice dated April 9th 1886 sent out by Dr. Robert Wild. Dr. Robert Wild then opted to leave the companies to his grandson Mr Robert Wild allowing him to take over the Empress Ballroom situated on Washington Street Oldham. Under Mr Wild's care the companies went from strength to strength, moving premises to Featherstall Road where at this point Darren Clark joined the companies as a funeral director. In 1997 we moved again to Edward Street, Werneth due to the land being compulsory-purchase order by Tesco and we still remain here. Darren then was placed in charge to allow Mr Wild to retire and before long it was agreed that Darren would take over the companies to make sure it would remain a family business. With Darren at the helm, the companies have grown even more, all whilst being one of the youngest NAFD Presidents, the youngest ever County Commissioner for St John Ambulance and now by royal appoitment Depty Lord-Lieutenant for Greater Manchester. Luckily his son Michael decided to come on board nearly 17 years ago to ensure the family tradition continued, whilst having two young daughters himself, who we hope will step into the family business and continue our legacy well into the future. Heywood is an appointed representative of Golden Charter Limited trading as Golden Charter Funeral Plans which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FRN:965279).

I just wanted to come on and express my love and gratitude to the community of Failsworth. ๐Ÿ™

Today was truly overwhelming to see so many people gather together in Failsworth to honour and remember those who gave their lives for our freedom was both humbling and deeply moving. The service was beautifully poignant, and it was lovely to see so many familiar faces coming together to pay their respects.

Itโ€™s always heart-warming to witness the community of Failsworth unite in such a powerful way, people of all ages standing side by side, showing that the sacrifices made will never be forgotten.

We hope everyone appreciated the ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—น๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐˜€๐—ฒ ๐—ผ๐—ณ ๐Ÿญ๐Ÿญ ๐—ฑ๐—ผ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐˜€, a small but meaningful addition to this yearโ€™s service to symbolise peace and remembrance. It was a privilege to contribute in this way. A huge thank you to Paul Wadsworth's brave family for stepping up to release the doves in what must have been an extremely emotional day for them.

Next year we will look to further improve our input to make the occasion even more special for all who attend.

Are you joining us at the Failsworth Remembrance Day Parade this Sunday?

We are working with Failsworth Royal British Legion to support the service by releasing 11 white doves, as a symbolic gesture to honour the brave personnel who have the lives in service for our country. ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ

๐Ÿ•Š ICYMI: This weekend, Harold P. Heywood Funeral are proudly working alongside Failsworthโ€™s Royal British Legion to support the Remembrance Sunday Service.

As part of this yearโ€™s service, we will be releasing 11 white doves as a peaceful and symbolic gesture to honour the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ

The Failsworth Remembrance Parade will take place on Sunday 9th November.
