Big Brush Month November 2025
Let's get Oldham’s children brushing🦷✨
This November we’re encouraging everyone—especially families—to make brushing teeth twice a day for two minutes a healthy habit. Good oral health supports overall wellbeing and helps prevent tooth decay, gum disease, and costly dental treatment.
• Brush teeth twice a day especially at bedtime and at one other time in the day
• Use a family toothpaste that contains at least 1350ppm fluoride to give the best protection
• Use a smear of family fluoride toothpaste for children under three and from three use a small pea size amount
• Spit out after brushing and do not rinse with water
• Help children to brush their teeth until they are at least seven years old.

Going Blue for AMR
Today the staff at Greenbank have worn blue to promote World AMR Awareness Week
World AMR Awareness Week – 18-24 Nov
This week we are highlighting a critical issue: antimicrobial resistance (AMR) — when bacteria no longer respond to antibiotics.
āš ļø Why it matters: Overusing or misusing antibiotics can make them less effective for everyone. If we lose that protection, common infections may become much harder to treat.
šŸ’¬ What you can do:
Only take antibiotics when prescribed by a qualified health professional
Don’t save leftovers or share them with others
Always finish your full course, even if you feel better
campaignresources.dhsc.gov.uk
Help prevent infections: wash your hands regularly and stay up to date with vaccinations
🚨 Let’s act together to protect our present and secure our future.

Tomorrow is the start of World AMR Awareness Week (18-24 November).

Antibiotics don’t work on viruses like colds or flu. Self-care is often the best choice to treat minor illnesses.

Pharmacists are qualified to give advice about different health matters, including minor illnesses, so consider speaking to a pharmacist before going to your GP.

Also if eligible get your flu and COVID-19 vaccine.

Stay well this winter and help stop the spread😷🦠

šŸ“ŒTake common sense steps to reduce the spread of flu and other similar illnesses by exercising good respiratory and hand hygiene and staying away from others if you have symptoms.

šŸ“ŒSelf-care is often the best choice to treat minor illnesses. Pharmacists are qualified to give advice about different health matters, including minor illnesses, so consider speaking to a pharmacist before going to your GP.

šŸ“ŒAnd if eligible get your flu vaccine, COVID-19 vaccine and RSV vaccine.

If you are unable to attend your appointment, please make sure to contact the surgery to cancel it. This allows us to offer the slot to another patient in need.

You can easily cancel your appointment via the NHS App or call the surgery on 0161 785 7910.

We understand it can sometimes be challenging to get a routine appointment with a GP or Nurse within your preferred time frame. Demand can be unpredictable, and missed appointments make it even harder for us to manage.

Thank you for helping us to keep the system running smoothly by cancelling any appointments you can’t attend.
