SUPPORT FOR CHILDREN, FAMILIES AND ADULTS

πŸŒ™πŸŒΌ A message from Oldham Family Practice to our community

As we move into a special time of year for many of our patients, families and staff, we wanted to take a moment to pause and recognise the importance of this season.

For those observing the holy month of Ramadan, we know this is a time of reflection, faith, patience and community. We send our warmest wishes to everyone who is fasting and gathering with loved ones, and we hope the month brings peace, strength and togetherness.

For those preparing to celebrate Easter, we wish you a season of hope, renewal and time spent with the people who matter most to you.

At Oldham Family Practice, we are privileged to care for a wonderfully diverse community. Every day we see the strength that comes from kindness, understanding and looking out for one another, values that sit at the heart of both Ramadan and Easter.

We also recognise that these times can look different for everyone. For some they are joyful, for others they may be quieter or more reflective. Whatever this season means to you, please know that our team is here to support you and your health and wellbeing.

From all of us at Oldham Family Practice, we wish you and your families peace, good health and moments of comfort and connection in the weeks ahead.

πŸ“’ Meet Sara – Your 24/7 Digital Assistant

At Oldham Family Practice, we are committed to helping patients access the right care as quickly and easily as possible.

That’s why we offer Sara, our 24/7 digital assistant available on our website and through our telephone system.

⏱ Most patients complete Sara in under 3 minutes.
☎ During busy periods, phone wait times can be significantly longer.

Sara helps route you to the right support first time, often without needing to wait on the phone.

πŸ’¬ What Sara Can Help You Do

Sara can:

β€’ Help you understand what support you need
β€’ Guide you to the most appropriate healthcare professional
β€’ Help you book appointments
β€’ Help you to order prescriptions
β€’ Support you to self-refer to local services
β€’ Navigate local NHS services and apps
β€’ Access trusted health information

Sara sits at the front of our website and telephone system, supporting patients to access care safely and efficiently.

Many queries do not require GP assessment, and using Sara helps ensure GP appointments remain available for patients who are unwell and need clinical review.

πŸ“ How to Access Sara

You can use Sara:

β€’ By visiting our website
β€’ By listening to the menu options when you call the practice

Many patients find Sara is the quickest way to access help.

Thank you for working with us to keep access fair, safe and efficient for everyone.

When a child is dysregulated, they aren’t refusing to cooperate β€” they’re struggling to feel safe and steady in their body.

Regulation isn’t a reward for good behaviour. It’s the foundation that makes listening, learning, and following possible in the first place.

Children borrow our calm before they can build their own. A regulated adult nervous system is one of the most powerful supports a child has.

This doesn’t mean being perfectly calm all the time. It means repairing, modelling, and showing children what settling looks like.

Over time, your calm becomes their inner voice.

What helps you regulate in tricky moments with your child?
