19 years ago today, I opened the doors to Serenity for the very first time & took a leap of faith into self-employment. Back then, I had a dream & a hope, but I could never have imagined the journey it would take me on.

Over the years Serenity Beauty grew and evolved & in 2021 it became Serenity Within, reflecting the shift in my heart toward holistic therapies & deeper healing work.

Looking back I feel so grateful for every step, every client & every lesson along the way. Hand on my heart, I can say I love what I do now more than ever.

It all began with a dream & the courage to follow it ✨

This photo at Balmoral Cairns is somewhere I've wanted to go for years & I only just got round to it last weekend & what a beauty of a weekend it was ☀️

It's never to late to follow those dreams however big or small. You just never know where they might take you.

That very thing you call a “treat” can continue to influence your mood & wellbeing days & even weeks after your session. Holistic therapies like energy healing, reflexology, massage, and holistic facials aren't just feel good in the moment therapies. They support us in regulating our nervous system, releasing built up tension & help restore balance in ways that support our sleep, our mood, our energy levels & our overall health.

When we take good care of ourself, we'll inevitably notice a difference in how we think & feel, thus showing up the best version of ourselves.

Today I'm away to try strength training, something that's not my norm & a little out of my comfort zone (give me a walk, swim or cardio to some dancy tunes & i'm happy 😅). I'll be honest, before booking I felt like I had already decided it's not my thing & I hadn't even tried. Why? Quite honesty I don't know, but what I do know is we can miss out on so much by not giving things a chance.

In 2018 I dipped my toes into the world of energy healing & the positive impact it has had has truly been life changing.

This past while has shown me the vast difference in the way I handle challanges & in my overall outlook on life.

Energy healing works by releasing dense, heavy, negative energy which can accumulate from prolonged periods of stress, negative thinking, low mood, worry/anxiety, exhaustion, unresolved emotions, past trauma & toxic people or environments. This affects the energy surrounding our body (the energy field/aura) &/or running through our body (the energy centres/chakras), in turn, impacting how we feel, how we think & even our physical health.

A quick note regarding Serenity Within gift vouchers...

Vouchers with a 2025 expiry date are now no longer valid.

As a one person business, I’m no longer able to extend voucher validity. Honouring expired vouchers affects availability for clients holding vouchers that are still in date.

All vouchers are issued with a 12 month expiry unless donated via a charitable cause (which may have a shorter validity).

The last couple of weeks have shown me my tendency towards independence & also how much strength there is in learning when to ask for & accept support. Anyone else fiercely independent? Or carry the “just crack on with it” kind of attitude? 😬

Recently, life has thrown a few curveballs… a near miss car accident, living rural with no means of transport, a bad fall leading to a knee dislocation & limited mobility, being away from my boys longer than I anticipated & now hideous amounts of this white stuff 🫣

I’m learning that accepting support isn’t a weakness, it’s wisdom. No New Year’s resolutions for me. Instead, I’m consciously letting go of the belief that I have to “suck it up” when things go pear shaped. It feels empowering to pop the superwoman costume away from time to time and see vulnerability as an opportunity, a reminder that we’re all worthy of care, compassion & a little TLC if we just allow it ✨

Wishing you a new year that's all you need it to be.

It's a wrap. The mulled wine & mince meat pies are out ☺️ To everyone who's paths have lead us to conncet, whether we've met in my therapy room, at one of my self care events, for training or perhaps we've still yet to meet, no thank you is big enough for your support ✨️ Even the likes of a thumbs up or wee share of a social media post is so supportive & more appreciated than you know 🙏🏼
