Addiction is often talked about as the problem, but often it's a symptom.

A way of coping, numbing, and surviving.

Underneath addiction there is usually:
– Unprocessed pain
– Trauma
– Anxiety
– Shame
– Loneliness
– Nervous system overload

It’s rarely about “bad choices” or a lack of willpower.

When we only focus on stopping the behaviour, we miss the deeper wound that needs care.

Therapy isn’t about judgement, it’s about understanding what the addiction has been doing for you, and helping you build safer, healthier ways to cope.

Starting therapy can feel scary, mostly because you don’t know what you’re walking into.

So here’s the truth 👇

Your first session isn’t an interrogation.
You won’t be expected to unpack your entire life story.
You don’t have to cry (unless you want to).
And you definitely don’t need to have the “right” words.

The first session is about getting to know you, at your own pace, in a place you feel safe.

We can talk about what’s brought you here, what you’d like to feel different, and what support could look like for you.
