A small independent walking/hiking group based in Kent providing group walks throughout the year.

Orpington Hikers is a small, independent walking group which provides strenuous hikes and leisurely walks all year around. My motivation is to help people to get up and out, to beat loneliness build on some inner joy and fun! To see the beauty of the UK landscape and of course to improve their health and well-being.

Hi everyone! I hope you are all well & keeping fit & active in 2024 🥾🍀🧑‍🦯Sadly Orpington HIKERS ended in 2023 as their was not enough demand for hiking locally, I really miss it. I hope to see you again one day, I now live in the West Country which is great. Wendy, Orpington Hikers

A lovely but very muddy walk around Eynsford this morning, the bluebells are starting to come into full bloom as is the rapeseed. This is out walk next Saturday. 🥰☘🥾😃

Meeting place: Otford train station, main entrance at 10.30am
Walk grade: Moderate
Walk pace: 3mph approx
Walk length 10 miles approx
Includes some steep hills & mud
Walk cost: Free (donations are welcome to keep your walking group going)
For drivers: There is a pay & display car park at Otford train station (£1, on a Sunday)

Join Orpington Hikers for an afternoon stroll through in the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on Saturday 29th April.

Walk start & finish time: 3.10pm until 5pm
Walk length: 2.5 to 3 miles
Walk terrain: One large hill, the rest flat to undulating
Start and finish location: Eynsford train station
For drivers: There is a pay and display car part at Eynsford train station
Walk suitability: For people who are new to exercise
Walk pace: Slowish/relaxed
Walk cost: Free (donations are welcome to keep your group going)
Walk purpose: To encourage people who are new to exercise to get out, experience the beautiful landscape and to meet new people/friends
Dogs: dogs which are kept on the lead are welcome

After a six month break Orpington Hikers are back!
We will be resuming local and further afield walks beginning in April - Free of charge and with a reduced programme from before. Hopefully see you all soon. 👩‍🦯🦚🥾😊🐴
