I see such a lot of patients with low serum ferritin stores which creates problems with hair loss and the hair growth cycle.

Getting a correct diagnosis in the first instance is key. Should we find that low iron is contributing to your condition, we would be discussing iron supplementation based on your needs.

If you are experiencing more hair shedding than normal, please seek advice from a professional. Leaving things to deteriorate makes it harder to return to what is normal for you.

What happens in a consultation with a Trichologist?

The consultation process is very thorough and may take up to an hour. During the consultation, all aspects of your scalp or hair problem will be discussed at length to determine the correct diagnosis of your condition. The Trichologist will go through your full medial history, and discuss a range of aspects of your lifestyle. This can include: your diet, family history, any stress you may be under and any medications you may be on. The Trichologist will then conduct a thorough examination of your hair and scalp, which may include the use of a scalp microscope or magnifying glass.
