After receiving cruel comments since starting school for being skinny (not by choice) I piled on the pounds after an early menopause. Shortly after this I slipped a disc and within a year had gone up 4 dresses sizes. My physiotherapist told me to go away and lose weight. Wow - those words hurt me. Cambridge Weight Plan sorted this out for me in 2014. Plan-friendly cheesecake, anyone? 🙋‍♀️ It's only 216kcal per serving, packed with all your essential vitamins and minerals and high protein.

You'll need:
½ Fruit & Nut Bar
½ sachet of Vanilla Flavour Shake
1 tsp Mix-a-Mousse
A sprinkling of cinnamon

How to make it:
1️⃣ Crumble the Fruit & Nut Bar and press it into the bottom of a glass or tin.
2️⃣ Make up the Vanilla Flavour Shake and add the Mix-a-Mousse.
3️⃣ Pour it on top of the bar base and pop it in the fridge to set.
4️⃣ Once it's set, add a sprinkling of cinnamon and enjoy! 😍

Take a stroll through your local Christmas markets. Not only will you enjoy the festive atmosphere and beautiful lights, but walking around is a great way to get your steps in while soaking up the holiday spirit.

💃Dance It Out
Whether it’s at a holiday work party or just at home with your family, dancing is a fantastic way to stay active and let loose. Put on your favorite festive tunes and dance away.

🏘Get Your Home Ready
With guests arriving, now is the perfect time to deep clean your home. Not only will this keep you moving, but it’ll also create a welcoming space for your loved ones to enjoy.

🗺Plan Active Outings
Consider organizing family walks or outdoor activities with friends during the holidays. Fresh air and quality time with loved ones can boost your mood and keep you active.

👊Set Small Goals
Aim for a certain number of steps each day, or try to include a little exercise in your routine, like stretching or a quick workout. Every little bit counts!

Are you shopping today?

As a small business myself I love supporting small businesses and know it means so much than just a sale.

Most dreamt of setting up their business and thought for awhile that is all it would be a dream. At some point we took a leap of faith (or madness depending who youtalk too) and set up.

Worrying would anyone by from you or like what you offer.

Feeling exposed as the buck stops here. No-one to hide behind when things go wrong.

Dealing with the stress of the peaks and flows of cashflow.

Feeling that warm fuzzing feeling when someone buys from you!

It really makes someone day.

When is your first Christmas Buffet of the year?
Worried about it hitting your waist line?

I want you not to fear food. You thoughts and your choices can make a difference.

Some of my tips are:

Fill up the plate with salad first and avoid high calories dressing. Mix together olive oil, lemon and your favourite herbs to create a dressing to add flavour.

Enjoy grilled chicken and lean protein like the festive favourite Turkey.

Crudites are a healthy choice for most (some may find raw vegetables can cause bloat so swop this for steamed veg).

Fresh fruit is a healthy sweet treat and full of vitamins and can boost your immune system too.

Use smaller plates and be mindful of portions control.

Sit further away from the buffet. Do not be in arms reach as it leads to mindless grazing.

Skip sugary drinks and if you are consuming alcohol, always have a glass of water before another. This will help with your consumption and help manage inhibitions which usually lowers when we drink.

Do you struggle with sleep? There are four key stages to a good nights rest.

Drifting into light sleep is when you’re not quite awake but not fully asleep either. Your muscles start to relax an your heart rate and breathing slows down.

As the light sleep becomes stable sleep, body temperature drops and brain waves slow.

Deep sleep is where your body goes into full repair mode and boost your immune system. Blood pressure drops to give your heart a proper rest.

The dream stage, REM it’s just as important playing a role in regulation your emotions and problem solving.

When we are sleep deprived you can notice and feel your mood changes, you might have low motivation and experience brain fog.

Did you know that you go through this cycle around 4–6 times each night. Focus on quality not quantity. If your sleep has been rocky, your body will prioritise catching up on the stages you need most!
