How often do you use these days?
They can be SOOOOO useful, especially this time of the year when things crop up last minute
These days youâre not looking to lose weight, youâre not looking to gain, youâre maintaining what youâve achieved already
Say youâre in a 500 calorie deficit a day
Thatâs a 3500 calorie deficit a week
If you used a maintenance day 3 out of the 7 days
(A spontaneous Tuesday night pub trip, Friday & Saturday night socials)
That takes so much pressure off you, you have more calories to play with those days, and youâre still in a 2000 calories deficit for the week
Even if you used it 6 out of the 7 days in December, thatâs still a minor loss a week and you have so much more freedom
Whatâs you would you rather
Be real with yourself, accept itâs not a dieting day because PUB, and you maintain that day
OR
You force whatâs not going to work, go over your calories, spiral and think f*ck it, Iâll just start again in January
You can leave December and enter Jan with losses, mainly maintaining your years work, ready to put your foot back on the gas in January
OR
Leave December and enter January a few pounds heavier, feeling pretty sh*t and lose the first month undoing your work because you let things spiral
Both scenarios you can fully enjoy the festive seasons, and the food & drinks that come with it
The difference is being realistic with yourself and knowing when you can have a normal day, and when you need to accept you just need to aim to maintain
Rather than trying to force the impossible and overwhelming yourself
