A yoga one to one is a great place to start. Your class will be designed just for you and your needs. Meeting you where you are at. Asking only that you be yourself.

The winter is cold & heavy so bringing in a little fire is needed.

1. Resting is often seen in society as being lazy but it is essential for us to perform to our highest potential. Keep burnout at bay by adding rest periods into your day - meditation, yoga nidra, restorative yoga or a cuppa in a quiet space.

2. Time for you - if you constantly give out to others and forget your own needs eventually you’ll be exhausted and even resent those around you. Take time to fill your own cup and you’ll be a lot happier!

3. Saying No - for a people pleaser this one was very hard! I learnt the hard way by reaching burnout, feeling tense and anxious all the time and struggling to sleep. Take your time with decisions, sit with it, if it doesn’t feel right then own it. People are often much nicer and understanding than you think!

Eeeeek!!! My scheduled weekly Ayurvedic yoga classes are back!!!! 🧘

I’m over the moon to be back teaching yoga 🧘 and cannot wait to see your lovely faces on the mat.

Classes will now be on Tuesdays 10-11am and Wednesdays 10-11am @ the Ayurveda Secrets Otley studio beginning on 4th March.

Classes book up fast as I have three spaces in each so let me know asap if you would like to reserve a spot. Email emily@ayurvedasecrets.co.uk

When you have a little break from something I think it makes you realise what you love and don’t love!

I love everything about writing yoga classes 🧘 the plan, the theme, the flow, the music and added extras ❤️

I take waaaay too long but it’s a process!!!

I don’t think anyone else could interpret my drawings though 😆 good job I get to teach it too 🧘‍♀️ x

I get it…it’s cold, rainy and not very inviting to get out there but do it anyway! Get your warm coat on and wrap up. Movement is essential for our body to work the way it should. We need to move to reduce stagnation, increase circulation and lymphatic drainage helping our toxins leave the body.

A lack of movement results in more fatigue, heaviness and a foggy feeling in the mind.

I love to get out first thing in my day so that I can tick off movement on my to do list (can you tell I’m a pitta dosha!) and get on with whatever I need to in my day feeling accomplished and happy that I’ve done something to look after my body and mind.

It’s a tricky time of year. The weather is rubbish. All you want to do is get cosy under a blanket with a warm cup of tea. Motivation is severely lacking as we struggle through January.

Just a little bit of movement helps soooo much. Just a little stretch can turn into a whole yoga sess! Entice yourself by getting out that mat and just sit. See what happens. The body knows what it needs. Movement happens and it feels so good 🧘

Having not been able to move the way I’ve wanted to recently I just remind myself how far I’ve come in the last 6 months and I’m immensely grateful 😊
