Sometimes, we imagine that our ancestors didn't travel that far - not much in the way of trains, roads not that brilliant... But sometimes you find them moving from Scotland to Cornwall. Mining was the attraction! ;)

The 1911 census just required women to state how long they had been married and how many live children they had given birth to and the numbers that were still alive. Not everyone understood this and so it is wonderful when you find a census return that has been completed incorrectly and lists the names of all the children who had died and their ages if they had still been alive!
