Over the weekend, Oxford City Farm was the victim of serious vandalism and burglary, including the theft of thousands of pounds worth of meat from the pigs that were carefully raised by farm volunteers over the year.

More information is available in the press release below and donations to help make up for the loss and damage would be welcome: https://www.goodhub.com/go/offerings/oxford-city-farm/donations/create

Last weekend held a Food As Medicine afternoon and made these amazing looking jars of "fire cider", a fiery immunity boosting tonic that's affordable and easy to make at home, using Oxford City Farm jalapeños, garlic, and shallots!

✨ We love seeing local ingredients turned into nourishing creations like this! Have you tried making your own fire cider yet? 🔥🍋

Can you help?

Do you have any wellington boots that your children have outgrown that you could donate to the farm?

We try to provide spare wellies for any visiting children who perhaps may not have access (or just don't come with) suitable outdoor clothes but we want to keep the farm, and opportunities for outdoor learning and play, inclusive for all.

We are particularly in need of tiny wellies for small small feet (like baby size 3), and bigger feet eg. Size 10 to big size 3+

Flockdown 2026 has started!

Avian influenza has affected poultry keepers globally and England has officially required housing of all larger flocks in just the last few days.

We keep about 120 laying hens (and one rooster!) who thanks to the Step Change Fund and the work of our many chicken volunteers, have a well armoured and spacious run that meets the requirements to protect our birds from foxes and the flu while also giving them plenty of outdoor space to scratch and explore, including a covered dry area for them to dust bathe through the winter.

This is in addition to the organic feed we provide, ensuring the land that feeds the birds is treated well. While we don't have a certification, we are proud to be able to give our birds a good life while they are in our care and provide high quality high welfare eggs at our Saturday markets (and to our chicken volunteers every day).

Rice, cheese & spinach cakes made by our Wednesday morning cooks on a budget group.

Made with the grown on the farm New Zealand spinach, these are crispy on the outside, & melt on the inside…… super yum! 😋

Our Farm Lead is at the Oxfordshire Local Nature Partnership event today, hearing from the Parliamentary Under Secretary at DEFRA about how Oxfordshire’s Local Nature Recovery Strategy connects with national policy.

It’s inspiring to see local ambition aligning with national goals for nature recovery — now the challenge is turning strategy into real, on-the-ground delivery.

Looking forward to the upcoming panel discussion on how we make that happen. 🌱

"Love how much the chickens rush to the water, even though the water pipes are working fine. They seem to love just drinking it too - or maybe it’s just the novelty factor! Chicken cocktail bar! 🍹🐓"

A photo and message sent to us by one of our farm volunteers, our chickens are well looked after and well loved!
