🚀 The IFIC Annual Survey Results 2025 are now published!

People at the centre of care, informal carers and professionals tell us that shared electronic care records lead to better coordination, fewer repeated assessments and more confidence in the care they receive.

The report also highlights important gaps. Some people face barriers to digital access and confidence.

As populations age, our health and care systems must evolve. Last month, hosted a webinar exploring how Ireland is becoming a global leader in embedding age‑friendly practices into integrated care.

From the 4Ms framework (What Matters, Medications, Mind, Mobility) to innovations in emergency response and local authority programmes, the session offered practical insights to transform how we serve older people.

Last week we came together for ’s “The Power of Us” Conference at the Golden Jubilee Conference Hotel in Glasgow, celebrating a decade of Health and Social Care Integration in Scotland.

IFIC Scotland’s Director, Anne Hendry, reflected on Scotland’s journey towards more integrated health and social care, recognising the collective efforts, partnerships, and learning that have shaped progress over the past decade. Her reflections highlighted the power of collaboration and the importance of sustaining momentum to deliver truly people-centred care.

As we look back on these achievements, we also take a moment to celebrate the contribution of Marie Curran, who retired as IFIC Scotland Coordinator. Marie has played a central role in fostering collaboration, learning, and innovation across Scotland’s integrated care community. We thank her for her dedication and wish her every happiness in her next chapter.

⚙️ Are you helping to build a stronger, more inclusive health and care workforce? ⚙️

One of the conference themes for the 26th International Conference on Integrated Care ( ) in Birmingham, 13–15 April 2026 is: Strengthened Workforce by Growing Capacity, Skills & Inclusivity.

People’s experience of integrated care is shaped by the professionals and practitioners they meet. A motivated, supported, and skilled workforce is central to implementing change and delivering person-centred, coordinated care.

We now have a clearer understanding of the competences and values that drive collaboration. These can be nurtured through inter-professional education and lifelong learning. Lived experience also plays an increasingly important role in shaping professional training and ongoing development.

Inclusive leadership is vital at every level of the system, from frontline teams to senior management and community leaders. This is particularly important as health and care systems face global challenges in recruiting, retaining, and supporting their workforce.

This theme explores how integrated care can strengthen workforce capacity by:

• Deploying inclusive strategies that attract and retain diverse talent
• Building innovative education and training before and after qualification
• Supporting people with lived experience to share insights and strengthen practice
• Equipping the workforce with evolving skills for digital, community-based, and new models of care
