We are appealing for witnesses following a collision in Haxted.

Officers were called to Haxted Road a short distance east of the junction with Dwelly Lane shortly after 2.10pm today (Saturday, 1 November), following reports of a collision involving a cyclist and a white van.

The cyclist, a man in his 60s, has been taken to hospital and remains in a serious condition.

Were you in the area this afternoon? We are looking to speak to anyone who might have witnessed this collision, or anyone with CCTV, dashcam, or helmet cam footage that may have captured this incident.

Please don’t fill litter bins with poo,
That’s not the proper thing to do.
Take stinky bags back home or try
to find a dog poo bin nearby...

If you could please avoid putting poo bags in the litter bins, particularly in the village, that would be most appreciated. They get overwhelmed very quickly and the smell is appalling - particularly outside Memorial Stores and Kate Tulett's Art 4 All.

Detillens Lane footpath to Glebe Field
Granville Road footpath to Glebe Field
Glebe Meadow / Church Hall car park near Limpsfield Fitness
NT car parks on Limpsfield Common/Chart

There's way too much litter being chucked in the hedges, and left by the Cricket Pitch, on the Glebe Meadow and in car parks. Just take your cans, bottles and food packaging home with you and pop it in the appropriate bin. Thanks.
