The sun sighed and laughed
Her destiny clear
Her future shaped before she could speak

How lucky we think
That she just gets to shine
Day in
Day out
Day after day

No rest
No going away
And being welcomed back
No holidays to look forward to
Not even sleep

She never knows the dark
Nor the light of the moon
No twinkling of stars
On that cold winters night

No chances
No choices
To be anything else

And so she shines
Because she must
Because she always has
And
Because she was never asked
