Today is a massive shout-out to all our amazing Sport Ambassadors delivering our FREE sports clubs throughout Renfrewshire ๐Ÿฅณ๐Ÿฅณ

Second year running out programme and with over 100 kids signed up it's all about helping youngsters have a safe environment to play with their pals, try new sports and have some fun ๐Ÿ‘Œ

It was also Halloween Week so they did it in style ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿผ

I absolutely love test weeks because everyone surprises themselves!

From 100kg Deadlifts to Weighted Pull Ups ๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ˜ฎ it was a fantastic week!

๐ŸŽฅ Behind the Scenes at Get Active Coaching

Every class, every programme, every client โ€” itโ€™s all about helping YOU feel healthier, happier, and stronger.

Whether that's planning a banging weightlifting club block, introducing new classes, getting new gym equipment or hoovering the place (a lot of hoovering....constantly...all the time ๐Ÿ˜‚)

It's not too often I feel genuinely proud of myself (very much a forward thinker) but today is definitely one of those days ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿผ

I've spent the best part of this year training to PB my 10k time and run a sub 50 minute at the Torrevieja 10km Race in Spain.

Whilst I achieved that feat a couple of weeks ago in the Great Scottish Run running it in 48m 48s (hoping I hadn't peaked too early ๐Ÿ˜‚) I felt I still had more in the tank!

Today I ran it in 47m 49s with a 5km time of 18m 36s!!!!! ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ

One of the hardest, most rewarding races I've run... With an average heart rate of 175 and a max of 192 and the heat frying my pale Scottish skin, it was horrible, but honestly, I've never felt prouder of myself for not stopping, not giving in because it's too warm or my heart rate was too high ๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ˜‚

I DID IT!!

Still a few things to tick off my 2025 goals list but this was a big one ๐Ÿฅ‚

Thank you to everyone who has supported me to achieve this from my partner Lois training with me, my family for celebrating the small achievements along the way, Coach Cathrine for taking some of my classes so I can come over for a few days and compete, the GAC Run Club for showing up every week, and everyone who's shared a kind message!

All About Get Active Coaching CIC

Get Active Coaching was established in October 2019 as a sport and exercise business with one simple mission: help get more children and adults active through sport and physical activity. It was set up by me! My name is Martin, and I started this business as I love all things sport and exercise. I wanted to find a way that I could use my passion, experience and knowledge to benefit others.

I have been involved in sport all my life and reached a high level in my younger days in both rugby and football. I have been a Rugby Developmment Officer for Scottish Rugby, which is where I gained a huge amount about how to implement sport and exercise in the community. Except this time, its not just for rugby, it is for every sport you can think of. Since my time as a Rugby Development Officer, I have completed my BSC (Hons) in Sport, Fitness and Coaching, achieved numerous sport coaching qualifications, which has given me the foundation to start and build Get Active Coaching!

Now, back to business. Get Active Coaching has recently achieved a huge milestone: We are now a Community Interest Company! I have spent the last 6 months creating partnerships with local organisations to develop working relationships, business parnerships and even assemble a small coaching workforce to help me with my delivery. I can now begin to make a bigger impact in the community through sport and exercise and help people live a healthier lifestyle as a result.
