Knee Osteoarthritis (OA)

This common degenerative condition causes inflammation and pain in the knee joint. The surfaces of the bones become rough due to progressive degradation of the articular cartilage and subsequently the knee does not move as fluidly as it should and inflammation and pain signals are triggered.

Risk factors include age, previous injuries to the knee, repetitive stress and obesity due to the increased loading through the joint.

Physiotherapy is a great way to help with knee OA as evidence shows strengthening the muscles around the joint help’s to provide support. Acupuncture has also been shown to relieve the pain associated with this chronic degenerative condition.

Happy Easter to all our lovely clients 🪺 🐣 We’re having a very busy time in our “holiday” Meet Izzy our latest addition - she currently thinks she’s a pet lamb 🐑 🐶 😂
