Why we should be eating a diverse diet✨

Different plant foods contain different fibres, vitamins, minerals and polyphenols — the more of these, the more diverse microbiome and better overall health🌈

Think fruits, veg, wholegrains, nuts, seeds, herbs and spices

My top tips:
✨add a new fruit or veggie into your weekly shop
✨mix up the colour of your fruit and veggies
✨add beans and pulses to your meals
✨swap your white rice for brown rice, quinoa, buckwheat or mixed grain pouches

So give your plate some colour and add in some more diversity!

When it comes to wanting to better your health and wellbeing, it can feel very overwhelming to know where to start, not to mention the social media noise that comes alongside that! The truth is, you don’t need a whole new routine; you just need to find out what works for you.

My advice would be to start small… very small! Whether it's ensuring you are having protein with one meal, adding in a new veg to a meal each week, increasing the colour on your plate or prioritising sleep – these small habits all add up to make a significant difference.

If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure where to begin, I offer 1:1 nutritional therapy support. Together, we will review your routines, explore every system of your body, and create a plan that feels achievable and aligned with your lifestyle✨

3 things I’d advise women to prioritise to support their hormones🤍

➡️don’t cut carbs
➡️protein at breakfast
➡️avoid exercise fasted

Cortisol is not the enemy, it is a crucial hormone that gets us up in the morning, gives us motivation and protects us if we are in danger.

Issues only appear when it becomes chronically high and the body is in constant fight or flight mode — it throws everything out the window to prioritise your safety.

If your body feels safe, it will work in your favour🤍

So eat your carbs, prioritise protein and fuel your exercise ✨

You don’t have to avoid snacks if you are ‘trying to be good’ – just snack smarter✨

If you are ignoring your mid-afternoon hunger and telling yourself ‘I’ll just hang on until dinner’, this can often backfire. When your hunger cues are ignored, your body speaks louder in an attempt to get you to eat

Instead of restricting yourself and ignoring the hunger, use a balanced snack to fuel yourself – it’s just another opportunity to nourish your body!

Balanced snacks = regulated blood sugar levels, maintain energy and reduce cravings✨
