👣👣 One very happy and grateful client today 😁👌🏻 After a couple of years of not being able to look after their feet and a fully fledged fungal infection we managed to get them looking a lot happier and feeling much more comfortable. With regular appointments they will be in tiptop condition. Very satisfying 👣👣

Let's talk about 𝙩𝙤𝙚𝙣𝙖𝙞𝙡𝙨 👣👣

Toenails are the basically the lowest part of your body and for the most part we give them a trim once in a while and forget about them, but they are an important and complex part of our anatomy.

👣 Nails are made of keratin, a protein which is the same as in animal claws, hooves and horns.

👣The nail starts its journey in the matrix, this is where cells multiply and harden into a true nail.

👣 The cuticle protects the new nail from infection, so it is important not to cut it back.

👣 The nail itself is called the nail plate, it sits on top of soft tissue which acts as an anchor called the nail bed.

👣 Our toenails are there to protect our toes from injury and actually enhance the sensitivity of toe tips and movements.

👣 The colour of your toenails can often be an indicator of underlying health issues, e.g.
- Purple/blue toenails could be a sign of a lack of circulation
- Yellow toenails could be a sign of fungal infection
- White spots indicate micro-trauma, and white streaks can be a sign of a zinc or iron deficiency.
