Habit Coach

Habit Coach Providing life coaching and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) sessions for individuals who wan It’s not just talking about your problems and feelings.

You eagerly seek a change in some area of your life but struggle to actually make that change LAST. Maybe because you’re feeling a bit lost at the moment and need some kind of direction. Maybe you’re trying to resolve an ongoing issue but it doesn’t seem to be working out in the long run. You might feel stuck because you tend to:

BE DISTRACTED
Daydreaming, having too many tabs open, time-wasting, spending time on the wrong things, being indecisive, or finding it hard to evaluate your options because you feel so caught up in the middle of that. OVERTHINK
Thinking your way out of things you used to enjoy, finding excuses not to follow up on things, genuinely believing that you're stuck, ruminating and worrying to the extent its not helpful. Generally having a busy brain, lack of focus or an unhelpful flow of thoughts. GIVE UP
Not doing the things you used to love anymore, avoiding people/events/activities because you don't want to feel a certain way, lack of confidence. USE SUBSTANCES
Overeat, over-drink, oversleep, overexercise, or not enough to (temporarily) deal with the issue but it's not working out. Self-harm, excessive use of caffeine, tobacco also falls in this category. The Habit Coach is run by a qualified life coach, trained ACT therapist and accredited NLP Practitioner. As you can read in the reviews, ACT and coaching can help you in a myriad of ways because of its transdiagnostic nature. In a way, ACT can help people see they are more than their condition or illness. ACT is a very experiential form of behavioural therapy/coaching. The idea is we work together as a team, to help you build the sort of life you want to live. This often involves:
- learning skills to ‘unhook’ yourself from difficult thoughts or feelings
- finding out what matters to you
- Committing to the actions you want to take to lead to a more meaningful and fulfilling life

The best way to do this is the same way you would learn to ride a bike, by practicing these skills until you can do it on your own. In general, as the sessions continue, you should start to develop skills to move more flexibly towards the life you want, regardless of how you feel, or what you think. Every time you leave the session I want you to come away with it an extra tool to your toolkit. A practical technique that is easy to apply and helps you to make a difference in your life.

Seek a change in some area of your life?

Maybe because you’re feeling a bit lost and need some kind of direction, or perhaps you’re trying to change the way you feel as its pulling you down. It doesn’t really matter what it is you’re struggling with at the moment, what matters most is that you want to DO something about it right NOW. That’s what brought you here.

Because you don’t want to settle anymore for how things are.

Past (failed) attempts are however making you believe you might not be able to tackle this challenge just by yourself (JUST YET). You might have tried before, full of enthusiasm, but that energy soon wears off. Your motivation doesn’t seem to last so you keep returning to those same old, comfortable and safe routines. Your comfort zone.
