Dear Weight Management Patients,
We want to make you aware of some important news. From 1st September 2025, the manufacturer of Mounjaro (Eli Lilly) will be implementing a steep increase in the cost price of this medication.
Like many of you, we were taken by surprise—this announcement was made publicly before we, as providers, had time to prepare. Understandably, this creates a great deal of uncertainty, and we want you to know that we share your concerns.
At Mendus and Pembroke Castle Pharmacies, your health and wellbeing remain at the heart of everything we do. We believe this sudden rise in costs is deeply unfair to patients who have already made such inspiring progress. We have already raised our objections directly with Eli Lilly, highlighting the negative impact this decision could have on accessibility to treatment.
This price change is being introduced by the manufacturer and applies across all suppliers, meaning it is not something we can control. However, what we can do is stand by you and work tirelessly to soften the impact. Our focus now is on developing strategies to ensure we can continue supporting your journey at the highest standard, while striving to keep treatment as affordable as possible.
At present, details are still being finalised between Eli Lilly and the wholesalers, so we do not yet know the exact costs or timings. We will keep you updated with clear information as soon as it becomes available.
We know how much dedication and sacrifice goes into this process, and we have been privileged to witness so many life-changing transformations. To have this progress threatened by external pricing decisions is disheartening, but please rest assured: we will do everything within our power to protect your access to care.
