Tomorrow marks a year since I started teaching yoga from my sitting room 🤸🧘‍♀️❤️

I can’t believe how fast it’s gone — and how incredible it’s been.

Yoga is so much more than touching your toes. It’s awareness. Mindset. Openness. Compassion. Less judgement (of yourself especially).

Your size, shape, age or flexibility doesn’t decide if you “can” do yoga — I’ve seen the most amazing shifts happen when people are simply encouraged.

And honestly… it seems to help almost everything 🤣 Better sleep, less snoring, easing sciatica, lower blood pressure, calmer stress levels, feeling stronger chasing grandchildren around. I hear it all.

We laugh a lot. I get things wrong. There’s chat and banter. That’s probably why people come back.

Yoga isn’t easy — and that’s kind of the point. I’ll never push you, but a little challenge is part of it. The hardest bit? Getting yourself there. Once you’re on the mat, you’re fine.

You don’t need a fancy studio. You can do yoga anywhere — I loved teaching outside in the Pentlands last year.

The goal? Leave feeling better than when you arrived. Always 🧘‍♀️🤸❤️

This morning the alarm went off at 5.50am and I really didn’t feel like going to yoga. A late night, a busy couple of weeks, some musical beds last night.

But I went.

Because yoga makes me happy. When I’m happy I’m a nicer person.

And quite honestly I’m so glad I did. I have never regretted going to a yoga class. I have often regretted missing one.

If you’d like to join me… here’s how…

Yesterday I held a workshop - 3 hours of yin, restorative, nidra, breathwork, chat and giggles.

More than anything smiley faces, friendship, community.

There were 14 lovely souls there. The energy was just beautiful.

Today I got these messages:

Wow wow wow!
I feel great! Just wanted to say yesterday was so good. I feel super relaxed today but in a really nice, motivated way too. I loved your little touches — the lights, candles and flowers were gorgeous and made it feel so special. Thank you!

And…

That was the best sleep I’ve had in a long time!! Didn’t wake once. Loved the class. Thank you xx

I’m sitting here tonight eternally grateful that 14 people joined. That it was such lovely energy. But also it only happened in the way it did because you decided to join. I only get to do what I do because you buy a ticket to a class or workshop.

It’s lovely to get thank yous. But I do want to genuinely thank you all for coming to workshops, classes, my home for sessions and your homes for sessions. It’s a complete joy to do the work that I do.

I am tired today but grateful is an understatement.

Thank you thank you thank you 🙏 🧘‍♀️❤️🙏🧘‍♀️❤️

Here’s a quick introduction to butterfly. I really could have genuinely spoken about this one asana for 10-15 mins.

I can’t remember the last time I didn’t include a version of it in a class. It’s versatile for yin, restorative and any other type of yoga class.

I use it in most of my private sessions, it’s in all my workshops and literally I just adore it.

It mainly works with the kidney and liver merdians but also spleen too.

It’s perfect as an early morning start with some breathwork into the back of the body. I find it really grounding too.

And it’s super accessible for all, you can make it as strong/yang as you want or as yin or restorative too.

I didn’t say here but you can wrap the feet, wrap the back, you can do it lying down… literally SO MUCH. It’s insane.

What’s your experience of butterfly? How do you do yours?

I want to make yoga as accessible and affordable as possible.

As such, if you come to the online Monday and Wednesday classes… the Friday online yin class is free.

Notes:
- you must use the class pass as this makes it £5 per class
- it’s for the online classes only at 6.45am-7.30am
- you must come to Monday and Wednesday consecutively in one week to get the Friday yin class for that week only
- optional breathwork is included Monday and Wednesday only at 6.30am
- Monday and Wednesday are a fairly active yoga based yoga class - Friday is yin
- all 3 classes can be booked as normal at £7.50 for drop in or £25 for 5 classes

Any questions please ask.

The March Be:Yin session will be all about the spring energy. I’m so ready for it and moving into this season.

I’m still learning about working with meridians and their roles. I know though that the liver is so vital especially working through our hormones and energy. It’s central to everything in our body and the energy that goes with it is central to our vitality how we go about our life and experience our world.

It makes sense when we feel stagnant we’re angry and frustrated and have poor judgement. When we feel good physically we’re able to manage life better, see the world in a better light and make better decisions. It all makes so much sense to me - the physical and emotional.
