Next in our Meet the Team series is Cara, our Client Care Co-ordinator and Therapy Assistant 💛

Cara loves meeting the children and families who come into clinic and being part of such an important part of their journey. She enjoys seeing the progress each child makes - whether big or small - and helping families feel supported, understood and welcomed each time they visit.

Behind the scenes, Cara is part of the close-knit team working together to ensure every session is well prepared and runs smoothly, helping each child receive the best possible support.

Her favourite part of the role? Celebrating successes alongside families and being part of a team that works together to make a positive difference.

When she’s not in clinic, you’ll often find her unwinding with a Costa coffee with friends or enjoying some creative crafts ☕

Why Progress Takes Time: Understanding Long-Term Physiotherapy for Children with Neurological Conditions

When a child has a neurological or genetic condition, development may take a different path. Progress can be gradual, but still meaningful.

In this blog, we explore:
• why progress may look different for every child
• the role of ongoing physiotherapy
• how consistency supports confidence
• why small changes can still be significant

This post aims to provide reassurance and clarity for families navigating longer-term therapy journeys.

What is Intensive Physiotherapy?

Our intensive physiotherapy programmes provide a focused block of therapy over a short period of time, often during school holidays or when a child may benefit from more regular support.

Intensives can help children:
• work towards specific movement goals
• build strength and confidence
• develop skills that feel challenging
• support future progress

Each programme is tailored to your child’s individual needs and may include approaches such as strengthening, Dynamic Movement Intervention (DMI), and functional movement activities.

Families are also supported with guidance and home activities to help continue progress beyond the sessions.

If you’d like to explore whether an intensive programme may be suitable for your child, we're always happy to talk things through.

Congratulations to Bella! Our March Winner for Sitting Balance.

Bella worked on balancing in sitting on a bench whilst using both of her hands to practise her signing and to apply her lip-gloss. Great work Bella!

Supporting Your Baby’s Unique Motor Journey: Adapting Play for Every Ability.

Play is one of the most powerful ways babies learn to move. Small changes to the way children play can help support strength, balance, and coordination, especially for babies whose development may be a little different.

In this blog, we explore:
• how play helps babies develop movement skills
• why every child’s motor journey is unique
• simple ways to adapt play for different abilities
• and when it may be helpful to seek extra guidance

This month’s awareness events, including Neurodiversity Celebration Week and World Down Syndrome Day, remind us that development doesn’t follow one path, and that’s something worth celebrating.

Next up in our Meet the Team series is Suzie, our Client Care Co-Ordinator 💛

Suzie loves meeting the children and their families, and being part of their sessions - interacting with them and supporting them along the way is the highlight of her day.

One thing she wishes more families knew? Just how much happens behind the scenes. The team are always supporting each other, whether that’s sharing ideas, setting up equipment, or making sure there’s a hot drink ready when there’s finally a moment to sit down (often alongside a bit of home baking too!).

Her favourite part of the role is getting to know each child - their personalities, interests, and seeing how they grow and develop over time. It’s something she feels really privileged to be part of.

Fun fact: Suzie has a season ticket for Wrexham AFC and loves getting to as many home games as she can ⚽

When she’s not in clinic, you’ll find her unwinding in her wellies, out walking her black Labrador, Buddy, in the countryside 🐾

Crawling is one of those milestones that looks simple, but it actually relies on many different skills working together.

It’s not just about moving across the floor. Crawling helps develop strength, coordination, balance, and body awareness, while also supporting important connections between the two sides of the body.

If your baby:
- finds tummy time challenging
- struggles to push up through their arms
- prefers to shuffle or stay in sitting
- you’re unsure how to encourage crawling at home, we’ve created a step-by-step digital Crawling Programme to guide you.

✨ It includes therapist-approved activities, clear explanations, and practical ways to support crawling through play, without overwhelm.

👉 Our Crawling Programme is available to purchase online - https://therapystars.co.uk/register/crawling-membership/
