Why Babies Develop at Different Speeds And When Variation Becomes a Concern.

It’s natural to notice differences in how babies reach movement milestones. Some roll early, others sit first, and some take a little longer to find their confidence.

In our latest blog, we explore:
• why babies develop motor skills at different paces
• what variation in early milestones can look like
• when it might be helpful to seek guidance
• and how early support can help families feel more confident

As part of Cerebral Palsy Awareness Month and other awareness moments this March, it’s also a reminder that every child’s developmental journey is unique.

Thank you to Claudia for sharing such a thoughtful review 💛

It’s been a real privilege to support Freddy and get to know him and his family over time. We’re so proud of the progress he continues to make, and it means a lot to hear how much the sessions have meant to the whole family.

Thank you for your kind words and for being part of the Therapy Stars community.

🎉 Congratulations to our February Challenge Winner - Freddy! 🎉

Freddy has been working hard on lower limb weightbearing, using his leg muscles to push up from bench sitting and initiate steps in the Rifton. Super work, Freddy - we’re so proud of you 👏

February was full of learning, progress and a little bit of celebration ✨

From team training and courses, to welcoming three returning little ones for intensives, it’s been a month focused on development, for both our team and the families we support. We even managed to squeeze in our (slightly delayed!) Christmas meal along the way.

Thank you to everyone who’s been part of our February - we’re looking forward to what March brings 💛

Practical Play: Daily Activities That Build Strong Motor Skills From 0–2 Years

Supporting your child’s movement doesn’t need to be complicated or overwhelming. Everyday play can help build strength, coordination, and confidence, in ways that fit around real life.

In this blog, we share:
• Why play is such a powerful tool for movement
• How motor skills develop from birth to age two
• Ways to support movement without pressure or expectation
• And why consistency often matters more than intensity

Thank you to Maria for this lovely review 💛

It was a real pleasure working with Mabel during her intensive week at Therapy Stars - it’s so nice to hear that she still remembers her time with us so fondly.

Next up in our Meet the Team series is Chloe, Paediatric Physiotherapist at Therapy Stars.

Chloe loves building individual relationships with each client she works with, tailoring every session to suit their needs and interests.

One thing she wishes more families knew? That although they may be surrounded by experts in various areas of health, they are the true experts in their own child, and they should be supported to advocate for them.

Her favourite part of the job is finding creative (and often slightly silly!) ways to help clients work towards their goals. The more games and laughter involved, the better.

Three words to describe her? Energetic, enthusiastic and a wee bit nuts 💛

When she’s not in clinic, you’ll likely find her at the gym learning Olympic lifting… or out on the rugby pitch collecting a few more bruises.

Tummy time is one of those early skills that can feel surprisingly hard, both for babies and parents.

Tummy time supports head control, upper body strength, postural stability, and lays important foundations for rolling, sitting, and later movement.

If your baby:
- finds tummy time frustrating
- struggles to lift or control their head
- becomes uncomfortable quickly
- or you’re unsure whether you’re doing it “right”
we’ve created a step-by-step digital Tummy Time Programme to support you.

✨ It includes therapist-approved guidance, clear explanations, and practical ways to make tummy time more achievable and enjoyable - without pressure or overwhelm.

This resource is designed to help you confidently at home, while still knowing when to seek individual support if needed.

👉 Our Tummy Time Programme is available to purchase online — see link in bio.

Why Early Movement Matters: The Hidden Foundations Behind Rolling, Sitting and Crawling.

Early movement isn’t just about reaching milestones, it helps build the foundations for strength, coordination, confidence, and learning in the first 1000 days.

In our latest blog, we explore:
• How early movement supports development over time
• The building blocks behind rolling, sitting, and crawling
• Why proactive support can feel empowering, not urgent
• And how early guidance can bring clarity and reassurance

Children’s Mental Health Week | 9–15 February

This week is Children’s Mental Health Week - a chance to pause and reflect on how important it is for children and young people to feel supported, understood, and that they belong.

At Therapy Stars, we see every day how confidence and being supported in familiar environments all play a part in a child’s wellbeing - at home, at school, and within their community.

Through our work with children and families, we aim to support these foundations in a gentle and practical way, alongside the wider networks that care for them.
