I feel very fortunate to be able to enjoy some family time at the sauna today. I still didn’t manage to get my Dad to have a go, despite bribing him with a mince pie.

Owning and running cedar hut sauna near Penmon means I spend a lot of time at this spot. Since opening in June I’ve seen it through all sorts of weather, seasons, times of day and night. I have spent A LOT of time here, and it continues to fill me with amazement and awe. Storm Bram was terrifying (footage is coming soon)! Now I can add this splendid treat of northern lights to the list of unforgettable moments. What a beautiful evening.

Couldn’t believe the difference in days, Sunday evening we were saunaing and swimming in the moonlight and Monday was a hell storm. Got to love north Wales and its many weathers! Thankfully the sauna is great to do in all weathers!

I’ve been loving the bucket challenge!!

Some go for a ‘gentle considerate pour’ (which looks more tortuous to me), and others get very excited and go for a full on water attack!!!

It’s not such a well documented ‘health benefit’ of a sauna (getting to throw a bucket of water at a friend or family member) BUT from watching it happen- it seems to always end in big belly laughs- which has to be a good thing!! I know I enjoy it. 😁

Our evening sessions are now available! We’re excited as it’s getting to that time of year when the dark evenings seem to last forever. Now we have a great after work antidote! Hourly sessions starting from 17:30-20:30 daily.

Our new sauna (biggie) is in place (we need to come up with a better name!!!). It seats up to 8 (private booking) or up to 6 (Shared sessions). There is an internal space for a quick change and to leave your belongings and a large window to take in the stunning views, and (an unexpected bonus) do some bird watching! The bird life visible from the sauna is so cool! If it doesn’t end up working as a sauna- it will make a very warm bird hide 🤣🤣!

Behold the rare sighting of my Dad off the farm!!! 🤣. I don’t think I’ve ever seen him on a beach, let alone in a sauna. When I suggested he have a go-he quickly scurried off (see picture)! I’ll work on him!! He kindly came to help remove our little sauna so we could replace it with ‘biggie’ (yet to be named). 😀🔥
