I'm so pleased to share the creation of YOGAHIMSA. Previously, shYoga, now you can find me under a shiny new website with a beautiful new mandala logo, too.

Ahimsa is a Sanskrit word. In yoga philosophy, it means non-violence, non-harm to all beings. Naturally, yoga has evolved over thousands of years, and these ancient traditions are open to interpretation. Ahimsa, in my understanding, is kindness, compassion, gratitude, forgiveness & empathy, towards all beings, AND YOURSELF. Feelings and qualities that ooze lightness, brightness, warmth & love.

YOGAHIMSA encaptures my approach to yoga as a guide and teacher - the reason I practise as I do now. Together, we move gently and effortfully (sweaty at times!); we breathe; we rest and meditate; we also recognise that we show up when we can.

Life is hard, isn't it! The juggle, struggle to stay afloat at times, playing all the roles required in supporting colleagues, family, friends & sometines your own wellbeing - it's all go go go!

My intention through YOGAHIMSA is to guide others, welcoming and grounding themselves in self-love and compassion, as we do our yoga. Learning to forgive a wobble or to let go of judgement if the body is tired. Yoga practise is a metaphor to be carried forward into life, eventually.

Yogahimsa Den is a dedicated space in Penn for group practise and private sessions. I run classes in Amersham, Missenden, and surrounding areas, too. A blend of Vinyasa Flow, Yin, and Yoga Nidra Meditation infused with kindness and self-compassion.

This special collaboration of iRest & Sound Relaxation will be 100 minutes of pre-Christmas rest, supporting you in finding ease during the festive period.

Join us Sunday 17th December from 4pm.

You’ll be guided through iRest Yoga Nidra, a sleep meditation lasting about 40 minutes, followed by an hour of Gong Bath relaxation including many other sacred sound instruments.

iRest is a modern interpretation of ancient Yoga Nidra practise. What's unique is the invitation to welcome every aspect of the sensory experience, as feelings, emotions, thoughts and images arise. When practiced regularly, little and often, we learn to meet each moment of life with unshakable peace and wellbeing, no matter how challenging or difficult the situation.

Essentially, iRest invites you to rest, welcoming everything just as it is, just as you are. The process is profound yet so simple.

A Gong sound bath is considered one of the most restorative and healing meditations because of the profound state of relaxation that can be attained in response to sound vibrations. The total experience can be viewed as a total re-tuning of your whole self. For many, relief is immediate, for others, it may take a few gong baths until a deep state of relaxation and balance is reached.

During the event, we invite you simply to rest & relax the body, to passively receive meditation and sound vibration.
All you need to do is close your eyes and allow sounds to glide through you.

Ayurvedic tea will be served at the end, with time for reflection and integration back into your waking life.
