I had two Reflexology clients last week whom I shared a few takeaway tips with regarding improving their bodies lymphatic flow; which is part of the bodily system that helps fight infection & reduce toxins & excess fluid, it needs movement to help it flow around the body effectively; to do this muscle contraction is needed.
Andrew Huberman provides a brilliant example of how we can support this function in our body with diaphragmatic movement through breathing.
I also suggest keeping hydrated.
Dry body brushing, using small upwards strokes towards the heart or lymph nodes (please research for specific conditions) which I use daily; this increases circulation, helps to eliminate toxins building up in the body, exfoliates & gives a little energy boost in the morning.
Movement & exercise whatever fitness level you are helps.
I also massage, pat areas of my body & gently bounce my body; stand up nice & tall arms & shoulders loose, face & jaw relaxed, start to bounce on the toes, you could also add a little swing of the arms … try for a couple of minutes… notice how you feel afterwards.
These little tips have such a positive knock on effect on our bodily systems, nervous system, cardiovascular, lymphatic, respiratory, muscular which will in turn support the other systems thus encompassing the whole body.
Reflexology is a great way to support your health & wellbeing & bodies systems. Incredibly soothing, relaxing & very beneficial
