My Community- Penrith 'My Community' is all about us, our community, working together & creating positive change. (We do not try to imitate anybody, only support what they are doing)

My Community is a Royal initiative brought to thanks to funding. We are employed by , our aim is to work with the community to find out what is good, what could be better and use co production to help make Penrith a better place for people with a learning disability and everyone to live. We work with other groups and occasionally you will see us promoting events from other groups that we have supported, either through co producing something new or by funding Launch events.

Looking for something fun for families and young people this winter? Basecamp North Lakes has some great activities coming up:
21st December – Family Woodland Event: Cooking and crafts in the great outdoors!
23rd & 30th December – Remote Provision: Food and craft parcels delivered to your home.
6th January – HAF Woodland Session: For ages 8–14, with lunch, crafts, and a chance to meet the alpacas!
Each event includes lunch and craft activities for those signed up. Places are limited and fill up quickly, so book soon!

Ahead of the publication of the Schools White Paper on SEND reform, which is due to be published early next year, the Department for Education is holding a series of in-person and online events for parents, carers, school staff and SEND professionals to β€œdiscuss and understand views on the core principles for SEND reform and ensure that our reforms are grounded in lived experience”.
