My Community- Penrith

My Community- Penrith 'My Community' is all about us, our community, working together & creating positive change. (We do not try to imitate anybody, only support what they are doing)

My Community is a Royal initiative brought to thanks to funding. We are employed by , our aim is to work with the community to find out what is good, what could be better and use co production to help make Penrith a better place for people with a learning disability and everyone to live. We work with other groups and occasionally you will see us promoting events from other groups that we have supported, either through co producing something new or by funding Launch events.

Author talks are back on at Penrith Library! On the 5th March at 7pm we have Calum Campbell joining us to talk about Walking the Offa's D**e National Trail.

Enjoy an evening of tales from the trail, some (very) amateur history, nice photos and a bit of humour along the way. Calum has travelled a fair bit in his life, and this has tended to focus upon natural environments and involve some sort of journey. The Offa's D**e walk is his most recent having completed it in 2026.

Hedgehog books will be at the event with books on the Offa's D**e.

Free event, refreshments for £1.

To book call Penrith Library on 01768 812100 or scan the QR code and book online via TryBooking.

Judgement-Free Support at The Happy Mums Foundation

This half term Happy Mum's HQ do have a couple small changes - their Friday Workington and Maryport Groups are cancelled due to team yellow availability (aka holidays).

If you have school age children, you are more than welcome to bring them along - headphones can be helpful, if you don’t want them to know exactly what you’re sharing!

If walking through the door for the first time feels nerve‑wracking (because it absolutely can be), one of Team Yellow can meet you beforehand so you don’t have to come in alone. Simply email Katie: info@happymums.org.uk
