Isn’t it amazing how one tiny thoughtful gesture can make all the difference to someone’s whole life?!
When I moved 350 miles away from home to study for my textiles degree, I found it hard. I was so shy and introverted that I struggled to make friends for the whole of the first year. (Don’t worry, I found my peeps eventually and am still good friends with them 20 years down the line!)
But I was seriously thinking about dropping out and moving back to Kent, until I started receiving silly little cards, notes and packages in the post most days.
The thing is, little hand written notes, funny little doodles and cute greeting cards- they aren’t actually that little. They can be a big thing to the person receiving them. That physical connection with my home and my family gave me the strength to stick with it.
I genuinely wouldn’t have spent the last 17 years making getting cards if it wasn’t for those cards I received over 20 years ago.
This is why I love greeting cards so much.
