Whether it started after a long day at your desk, a weekend of yard work, or seemingly out of nowhere, the instinct to rest and “protect” your back is strong. But here’s the truth: the best thing you can do for a stiff, achy lower back is to move.

The Problem With Staying Still

When your back hurts, it’s natural to think that resting will help it heal faster. For short periods — like a day or two of light rest — that might be okay. But beyond that, too much stillness actually works against you. 🧘‍♂️
