It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of William Lionel Prescott, who fell asleep peacefully on 30th January 2026 at Marina View Care Home, Ashton on Ribble, Preston, aged 90.

Loving husband of Joan (deceased), father of David and Judy (deceased), grandfather of Kelly, Cindy, James and Jane and great-grandfather of Jenson and Harry, father-in-law to John and brother to Alec.
Funeral service to take place at St Michael’s church, Much Hoole, on Wednesday, 18th February 2026, at 11.30am. Family flowers only by request, however donations in Bill’s memory are gratefully received in favour of St Catherine's Hospice, Lancashire c/o Neal Buckley.

Friends and family attending Bill’s service are warmly invited to a celebration of Bill’s life at the Ram’s Head, Liverpool Rd, Longton, to share memories of this very special man.

It is with great sorrow that we announce the death of Gerry (Gerard) Bullen, at home surrounded by his loving family on the 2nd February 2026 following a long and very brave battle against cancer, aged 75 years.

Beloved Husband of Janet. Much-loved Step Father of Linda & Anthony, Grandad of Adam and Missi, Brother of Philip, Barbara, Peter, Marie, John & Frank.

Gerry will be sadly missed by all his family and friends.

His funeral and Requiem Mass will take place at St. Oswald's Church, Longton, on Thursday 19th February 2026 at 2.30pm, followed by committal at West Lancashire Cemetery and Crematorium.

Any family or friends, past or present, are very welcome to attend.

Those attending are warmly invited to Briars Hall Hotel & Restaurant in Burscough thereafter in celebration of Gerry's life.

Dearly loved and loving husband of Bronwen, cherished father of Stephen and Michael and father-in-law of Nika and Lise, much-loved grandad of Elnur, Jasmine, Nicholas, Freya and Tobias. Great-grandad of Anastasia and a dear brother and uncle. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

The funeral service will take place at All Saints’ Church, New Longton, on Tuesday 17th February 2026 at 11.00am followed by committal at Charnock Richard Crematorium. There will be refreshments thereafter at Charnock Farm, Wigan Road, Leyland. All family and friends will be welcome to share memories with Bron and family. Role details:
• Full-time hours
• Participation in a 1 in 4 out-of-hours on-call rota
• Full clean UK driving licence is an absolute necessity
• Applicants must be over 25 years of age to meet our fleet insurance requirements
• Experience preferred but not essential, as full training will be provided

*Please note: this is a physically demanding role.*

This position would suit someone who is compassionate, reliable, and able to work as part of a supportive team, providing a professional and caring service to families at a difficult time.
