Lovingly reunited with her beloved late husband William. Much-loved Mum, Nan, Nana and Nana Janet.

Janet will be deeply missed by all her family, friends, and, of course, the staff at Chestnut Grove.

Words from Will’s loving family:
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of William Charnley Moulding, aged 69. William passed away peacefully in hospital on the 6th December 2025 surrounded by his family.

A much-loved husband to Dinah, devoted Dad to Simon, Helen and Nicola, caring father-in-law to Kirsty, Jeremy and Jimmy and a special Grandad to Archie, Callum and Lauren.

William was a true gentleman with a big heart. He will be greatly missed by all.

“Forever in our hearts, always in our memories.”

The funeral service will take place at St Mary's Church, Church Avenue, Penwortham on Friday 19th December 2025 at 11.00am. Charitable donations are welcome, gratefully received in memory of Mr. Moulding in favour of the Rosemere Cancer Foundation c/o the funeral director.

This week, we take time to acknowledge a journey that we all face at some stage in our life: grief.

Grief doesn’t follow a timeline. It certainly doesn’t look the same for any two people. And it doesn’t mean you’re “doing it wrong” if your experience feels different from others. Whether your loss is recent or many years past, your feelings are valid, and your story matters.

We wanted to take this opportunity to remind you that you are not alone.
If you’re finding things difficult, please reach out, to a friend, a family member, a support group, or to us. Sometimes a listening ear can make all the difference.

This week, we honour:
• those who are grieving
• those remembering loved ones
• those supporting someone through loss
• and those we have lost but carry with us always

Peacefully in Longton Nursing Home on 22nd November 2025, aged 85 years.

Beloved wife of Michael, sister to John and Janet, much loved mum to Andrew, Stephen and Russell, Grandma of Victoria, Rebecca and Oliver. Great Grandma of Teddy, William, Poppy, Pippa, Rory and Marley.

Barbara had a remarkable nursing career working in Preston Royal Infirmary, Sharoe Green Hospital and Fulwood Hall Hospital as a Nurse, Sister and Matron. She will be deeply missed by all her family and friends.

Funeral service to take place at Preston Crematorium on Wednesday, 10th December at 10.30am. Family flowers only by request, please, however donations in memory of Barbara are gratefully received in favour of the Alzheimer’s Society, c/o the funeral director.

Gone too soon but never forgotten.

On 14th November 2025 Julie Helen Young passed away peacefully due to Alzheimer’s at Kings Manor Care Home, Ottery St Mary, Devon.

Words from Julie’s loving family:
Born in Preston on 21 May 1965 to Dorothy and Duncan Purves, Julie enjoyed a mischief-filled childhood, along with her brother and sister, in the fields surrounding the family home in the leafy suburb of Penwortham.

Julie started her working life at British Aerospace in the early 1980s, staying with the company for over 20 years and especially relished an exciting spell working in flight operations at Warton.

Julie’s career culminated in working alongside and supporting eminent scientists and researchers at the prestigious Materials Department at Oxford University. Throughout her 35-year working life, she made many cherished and long-standing friendships with colleagues.

Cruelly, Julie was forced to take early retirement due to being diagnosed in June 2019 with Early-Onset Alzheimers. She chose to move to a rural setting on a smallholding near the coast in East Devon.

Julie is survived by her husband Simon and was a loving and proud mother to Ollie and Gabby, as well as a grandmother to Harper and Aubrey. Julie also leaves behind her mother, Dorothy, and her siblings Kate and Guy.

A church service will be held in honour of Julie at St Marys Church, Penwortham, on Thursday 4th December 2025 at 1.00pm, with a short service at Preston Crematorium thereafter.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Society or Crisis c/o the funeral director.
