We are having unexpected problems with our clinical system EMIS today - this is a national issue - and it may intermittently disrupt our ability to manage appointments, access medical records, and process prescriptions throughout the day.

Thank you for your patience whilst the issue is being resolved.

Ordering Prescriptions in time for Easter

Order by Wednesday 25 March 2026 - This is the last day to order prescriptions ahead of the Easter bank holiday

Allow at least 7 days for your pharmacy to prepare your medication after the bank holiday

Use the NHS App - It's the quickest and easiest way to request a repeat prescription, even when the practice is closed

Make sure to plan ahead to avoid running out of medication during the Easter weekend!

*Meningitis can be very serious if not treated quickly.*

Symptoms of meningitis develop suddenly and can include:
- a high temperature (fever)
- being sick
- a headache
- a rash that does not fade when a glass is rolled over it (but a rash will not always develop)
- a stiff neck
- a dislike of bright lights
- drowsiness or unresponsiveness
- seizures (fits)

These symptoms can appear in any order. *You do not always get all the symptoms.*

Call 999 for an ambulance or go to your nearest A&E immediately if you think you or someone you look after could have meningitis or sepsis.

Trust your instincts and do not wait for all the symptoms to appear or until a rash develops.

*Someone with meningitis or sepsis can get a lot worse very quickly.*

The UK Health Security Agency has written a great blog explaining more here:

And you can check out the NHS website for more.

Your Voice Matters at Morrab Surgery

We are welcoming patients to join Morrab Together – our Patient Participation Group (PPG), where patients and the practice work together to shape and improve our services.

What is a PPG?

A PPG is a group of patients from all backgrounds, ages, and genders who come together on a voluntary basis to represent our patient community. The group works with the practice team to discuss ideas, share feedback, and help shape and improve the care we provide.

If you are a registered patient at Morrab Surgery or a carer of one of our patients, and are curious, enthusiastic, and passionate about making a difference, we would love to hear from you.

You don’t need any special skills - just a little free time now and then, and a willingness to share your thoughts, ideas, and suggestions. Meetings will be held both in person and online to ensure accessibility for as many people as possible.

If this sounds like you, please get in touch - speak to one of our receptionists at the desk, or send us a message to morrabenquiries@nhs.net, or call us on 01736 363866.

Together, we can drive positive change and improve health outcomes for everyone.
