A message from the Chair of the St. Piran in Penwith Committee:

"Every year we organise events to celebrate St. Piran's Day. One of these is a procession and Furry, the route of which runs up the top half of Morrab Road and passes outside Morrab Surgery.

As a courtesy, I would like to inform you that we will be running a rolling road closure between 10.30-11.30am on Thursday 5th March. It might affect your patients with mobility issues as they will not be able to move their vehicles between these times."

Morrab Surgery – Connecting with Our Local Community

Last month, one of our Practice Nurses, Adele Ward, was invited to visit Madron Daniel C of E School to support their ‘When I Grow Up’ Day.

With Adele’s and the school’s permission, we are sharing a photograph taken with some of the children on the day, along with a letter of thanks from the Headteacher following the visit.

Adele is pleased to share her thoughts about the visit with us all.

“It was wonderful sharing with the children and answering all their questions. They were very interested in all the nursing equipment and loved having a go with thermometers and SATS probes as well as all of them wanting to be bandaged up. It was great to be a part of their When I grow up day. Hopefully I was able to help them broaden their understanding of what’s it’s like to be a Health care professional and put them at ease about visiting doctors and nurses when they need us. In 40 years, I have never been in a classroom with children and spoken about being a nurse. The school’s vision is “Rise up, take courage and do it”! I needed that today so if you are asked to encourage children and young people go for it! It was great FUN!”

Morrab Surgery will close between the hours of 1pm - 6pm and will reopen as usual on Wednesday 11th February at 8am.

Pendeen Surgery will close between the hours of 12pm - 6pm and will reopen as usual on Thursday 12th February at 8.30am.

Phonelines open at 8.30am.

If you require urgent medical help during this closure period, please still call 01736 363866 where your call will be dealt with by the message handling service.

During January, over 250 clinical appointments were not attended without prior notification at Morrab Surgery.

Please let us know if you are unable to make your appointment so we are able to offer the clinical time to another patient.

The Cornwall Disability Alliance has recently launched Your Voice Cornwall, the biggest health, disability and inclusion survey ever run in Cornwall. The findings will be used to influence future services, policy and decision making across the county, and we want to ensure a wide range of lived experiences are represented.

The survey is open to anyone with physical conditions and sensory loss, long-term and fluctuating conditions, learning disability, neurological, neurodivergence, mental health, and other hidden conditions. Carers, family members, friends, and support workers may complete the survey on someone's behalf.

As a thank you, ten people will each win £500 once the survey closes on 3 April 2026.
