About the book …. 📖 🔍🕵️‍♀️🐎🚌⚰️

THE ACCIDENT

Exeter 1910. A time of Suffragettes, newly invented petrol and steam cars, the new-fangled telephone invention and the advent of fingerprinting to solve crime. This delightful crime mystery story follows Carrie when she witnesses a devastating tram crash, killing a passenger called Rose. As she lies dying in Carrie’s arms, she hands her a curious calling card, insisting the crash was no accident. Carrie is intrigued.

THE INVESTIGATION

Enthralled by Sherlock Holmes, this crime mystery story follows Carrie as she investigates the crash, looking for answers. Meanwhile, the police are also on the case. Newly promoted Detective Sergeant Jeffries is investigating the crash with his poker-playing partner, PC Smith.

CURIOUS GOINGS-ON

Meanwhile, a photographer is seen at the scene taking photographs, later selling them to ghoulish customers, eager to learn more about the crash and its victim. The next day, Carrie discovers him, murdered in his darkroom. Did he know too much, or did he have other secrets?

Inspired by the true story of the fatal tram crash in Exeter in 1917 in which a woman died.

A delightful, cosy police procedural story set in 1910, with characters you’ll love.
