Over the last few days, the First Response Training team has been OUT and ABOUT smashing those step counts! 👣💥
☀️ Leanne has been making the most of the sunshine — even treating herself to a well-earned pit stop for some refreshments (hydration is key, obviously! 🥤😄).
🌳 Nicole has been enjoying some lovely after-work park trips with her son Fin, soaking up the sunshine and sneaking in those bonus steps!
💖 Nicki has been racking up the steps with some very busy days including a special day out with her beautiful granddaughter Bella (steps + memories = win-win!).
🌊🥪 Nicki & Becky also squeezed in a scenic river walk on their lunch break… because why sit down when you can step it out? 😂
And Nicki didn’t stop there — she wrapped up her day with an evening walk with her son! apparently moving a little too fast according to the sign! 🚶‍♀️💨⚠️
🌅 Amy has been enjoying peaceful evening river walks, getting those final steps in - the perfect way to unwind after a long day in the office. ✨
🏙️ 🚇 Perry has been hitting the ground running around the London Underground — turning every platform, staircase, and “mind the gap” moment into extra steps! 👣🚊

🔥 And today’s grand total: 132,346🔥

🎉 As you know, we’ve already SMASHED our 80K step goal (no big deal 😎)… so naturally, we’ve decided to aim even higher — 1 MILLION STEPS! 💪👣

Tomorrow is World Autism Day and the final day of the challenge and we have 73,492 steps to clock up tomorrow to hit our new goal 🚶‍♀️
We’ve upped the challenge, and we’re not slowing down anytime soon — watch this space! 🚀

💖 You can still donate and support us as we push towards that massive 1 million step goal — every bit of encouragement helps!

Big news for the adult social care sector 👇

The government has rolled over funding for training into 2026/27, meaning support is still available for providers investing in their workforce.

💷 There is up to £11.98 million available this year
🎓 It’s specifically to support completion of the Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism
🏥 It applies to CQC-registered adult social care providers in England

This funding isn’t automatic, it can only be claimed by organisations that are actively completing the training.

✔️ You must complete the full training (including eLearning + Tier 2)
✔️ You can claim funding after the training is completed and paid for
✔️ There’s a £25,000 cap per organisation for this training (separate from other training funding)
✔️ Claims are first come, first served

If you’re planning to roll out Oliver McGowan Training, the funding is there, but you need to claim it.

🌟 Today’s Step's Update – 💚 🌟

The First Response training team had a very special guest today… 🚶‍♀️✨
Isla, who is the daughter of our Neurodivergent Training Lead, Becky, joined us as our official “mini step champion” for the challenge! 👏💥

With glorious sunshine overhead ☀️, Bec took Isla out on a lunchtime adventure through the stunning gardens at our sister venture, The Angel Inn, Pershore 🌿🌸

And what a perfect setting! 😍
Beautiful scenery, fresh air, and even a hidden gem 💎 — a lovely little swing seat that added some extra fun to their step-count mission 🎉

Today’s walk was even more meaningful 💚
Isla is currently on her own journey through the diagnostic pathway for combined ADHD and autism. Her amazing contribution today is a reminder of why we’re taking on this challenge raising awareness, showing support, and getting everyone involved 🙌

She absolutely smashed it 👟💪

Proving that every step counts, no matter your age especially during half term! 🌈✨

Another fantastic team effort all round 👏🔥

Bringing us to a brilliant total of 111,020 steps today! 🏆🚶‍♂️

Let’s keep stepping, supporting, and spreading awareness

Friday was Day 2 of the Walk for Autism… and the team continued to absolutely smash those step👣
Yesterday we clocked an amazing 132,157 steps - seriously, someone check if we’ve walked to another country yet…

Friday highlights from the squad include:

• Jordie was out walking with her son—future step champion in the making!
• Perry hit the fields with his dog, who may or may not be the real one setting the pace 🐕
• Lauren made a new furry friend and stopped for some quality cat fuss time (as you do) 🐈
• Holly squeezed in a scenic park walk on her lunch break multitasking at its finest
• And Jen, despite being on annual leave, still got her steps in!

Incredible effort, team—keep those steps coming! 💙
