📢 Exciting Vaccine Update! 🩺💉

From January 2026, the NHS has introduced a new MMRV vaccine. A combined jab that protects children against measles, mumps, rubella and chickenpox. 🎉 This replaces the old MMR vaccine and means even better protection for our little ones.

👉 What this means for you:
✨ Your child will now get protection against four diseases with one combined vaccine.
📅 It’s given as part of routine childhood jabs. See below picture of the vaccine schedule.
📨 We’ll be in touch to arrange your appointment!

Chickenpox might seem mild to some, but it can lead to serious complications and lots of missed school or nursery days. Getting vaccinated helps protect your child and our community. ❤️💪

If you have questions about the vaccine or your invitation, just get in touch, we’re here to help! 😊

The vaccine is now part of the routine childhood immunisation schedule in the UK, adding protection against .

This guide will help you understand when your child should get their MMRV vaccine, if they are eligible to have it.

💊 Try Pharmacy First 💊

Did you know your local pharmacist can help with many common conditions without needing a GP appointment?

With the NHS Pharmacy First service, you can see a pharmacist first for issues such as:
✔️ Sore throat
✔️ Earache
✔️ Sinus pain
✔️ Urinary tract infections (women)
✔️ Infected insect bites
✔️ Impetigo & shingles

Pharmacists are highly trained healthcare professionals and can offer advice, treatment, and in some cases prescribe medication, no appointment needed!

👉 Please consider visiting your local pharmacy first for these conditions before booking a GP appointment. This helps you get quicker care and keeps GP appointments available for patients who need them most.

Thank you for helping us help you 💙

🫁 Chest

🚨 Important Information About Urine Sample Drop-Offs 🚨

We are seeing a significant increase in patients bringing urine samples to the surgery without being asked to do so. Unfortunately, this creates extra workload for our nursing team and can delay care for those who need it most.

✅ We can only accept urine samples if:
-You have been specifically asked to provide one by a GP or nurse
-You have completed the required form in the sample pack with clinical information
❌ We cannot process:
-Unrequested urine samples
-Samples without a completed form

Any samples that do not meet these requirements will be safely discarded, as we are unable to process them appropriately.

💊 Think you may have a urine infection?
Please use the Pharmacy First service as your first point of contact. Pharmacists can assess your symptoms and provide treatment where appropriate. (Eligibility criteria: women, aged 16 to 64 years. Must be systemically well, excluding pregnant individuals, urinary catheter, recurrent UTI-2 episodes in the last 6 months, or 3 episodes in the last 12 months)

Thank you for your understanding and for helping us manage our workload safely and effectively. 💙

🩺 Feeling rough with a cough or cold?

Common illnesses often last 1–2 weeks, and rest, fluids and self-care are usually all you need. Antibiotics won’t help, as colds are caused by viruses.

📈 We’ve seen a 20–25% increase in appointment requests since October, so please think Pharmacy First before contacting the GP surgery. Your local pharmacist can help with advice and treatment for many common illnesses.

💡 No need to contact us straight away.
If your symptoms last more than 10 days or get worse, then get in touch.

Thanks for helping protect our community. Rest up and feel better soon! 💙
