Important Update – NHS Dental Charge Exemptions (From 1 April 2026)

From 1st April 2026, the following benefits will no longer automatically qualify patients for free NHS dental treatment:

• Income Support
• Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA)

Please note:
• Tax Credits and Child Tax Credit were already withdrawn in April 2025.

These changes are part of the UK-wide move to Universal Credit.

If you currently receive one of these benefits, you may need to apply for Universal Credit or check your eligibility to continue receiving help with NHS dental costs.

If you’re unsure about your entitlement, please speak to our reception team or check the NHS website for guidance before your appointment.
