At Tay Osteopathy, we treat a lot of babies AFTER they’re born, but this little one brought her 36-week pregnant mum along for treatment instead!
Baby was presenting breech, so Mum came for osteopathy to help encourage baby to turn into a head-down position ready for birth.
After just one osteopathic session – along with acupuncture and some home “spinning baby” techniques – baby turned that very night!
Mum can now look forward to the home water birth she’d been hoping for. 💙
Osteopathy can support breech babies (alongside other therapies and medical guidance) by exploring what might be contributing to the baby staying in that position. We gently assess and treat:
• Restrictions in the pelvic joints
• Tension in the soft tissues of the hips, pelvis and lower back
• Overall body mechanics, posture and gait
By gently releasing areas of tension and improving mobility, we help create more space and balance within the pelvis, giving baby the freedom to move into a head-down position more easily.
What a lovely outcome ☺️
