Another twist to our annual charity event (we need your help on this, below) for 2026 with the introduction of Super Pairs!

Get your bestie ❤️ and get ready to give your all across the 3 events covering Strength, Conditioning and our Metcon MiniRox!

Together you will work through each phase, and also be joined by another pair to create your team with both pairs scoring individually 🙌🏻

If you don’t have a partner, don’t worry! Book in via the app and we will pair you up!

Try this for lower back decompression 🙌🏻

This one is from one of lower back programmes but for many with lower back issues it becomes a daily ritual.

It may not fix the route problem of your back issues which can be complex or even just undiagnosed but to help release some tension and keep you pain free it’s just one of many good exercise options.

Give this a try and let us know if you need any more support with injuries.

Essentially, we don’t want to be stopping exercise due to injury, but learning to work around them and improve strength back to the areas that need it.

When retuning from an injury it’s important to slowly build back load and volume. Far too often the issue reoccurs because we jump back in too fast to the same loads and volume or poor form that might have caused the issue in the first place.

How to come back from a lower back injury…

I’d say the majority of people at some stage will experience lower back pain. The severity will be mixed but it can often stem from our daily positions, muscular imbalance or even the exercises we are doing overloading muscle tissue when it’s not ready for it.

Of course, in the gym scene this is why it’s important to lift with proper form. It goes beyond just how it looks though.

Consider volume, load, breathing , bracing as well as recovery and hydration.

I can testify that your lower back going is one the most debilitating injuries and once you have had it once you learn to respect it…

Anyhow… keep lifting but learn to enjoy gradually building the load back up over months not days and be aware of the signs 🪧 when you need to pull it back a little. 🙌🏻

Happy Birthday 🥳 to our very own and for those who don’t know the news, congratulations to both Lucy and Albert on their recent engagement 💍

Lucy is a firm favourite at the club for her excellent Movement sessions and always fully booked, HIIT and Core sessions 🙌🏻

On a serious note though, People are negative about themselves, confident about *not* being confident. They’re sure of their limitations, but not their potential.

Confident in the wrong thing.

I can honestly say weightlifting and sport in general can really help with this.

I always wonder if I didn’t play sport from a young age what would have motivated me, gave me confidence or at least an environment to gain confidence.

If you haven’t already, get started!

I know we have so many members that wished they started sooner for these exact reasons! 🙌🏻

Might seem a little harsh (even a little cringe) but have to admit sometimes this is absolutely true…

Why is failure looked upon so poorly 🤔

Have you ever done something that was a complete success the first time you done it?

The next time you fail, consider why and look forward to coming away and succeeding next time! If you don’t, at least enjoy the challenge of trying!

We have loads of ways to keep you accountable in house, but nothing truly focuses the mind like an event…

We could go deep in to the psychology of it all but the outcome, when managed correctly is time given to yourself to train, get stronger and get fitter…

Usually, when the event is complete you would have loved every minute of it and be physically healthier for it.

We help members stay accountable in a number of ways..

✅ Our programmed sessions come with a training app so every session can be tracked

✅ Super Saturday is our quarterly session looking at 3 powerlifting movements… repeated throughout the year so you can improve form and see how your daily training is paying of.

✅ Coaching 1-2-1 sessions and monthly check-ins as an optional extra so you can progress with nutrition and training side by side.

But we would really encourage you to get booked in for one of our events (or an external one)…

Next up we have Super Saturday (this Saturday) 🙌🏻 then we have Boots and Beers in May and Super Teams our In-house Charity event (charity tbc)…
