2 Living on short-term relief
Caffeine, scrolling, distractions, pushing through exhaustion they help for minutes, but train your body to stay stressed long-term.
The solution:
Swap constant stimulation for intentional calming moments.
Choose practices that teach your nervous system safety slow breathing, stillness, or guided rest.
3 Staying stuck in your head
Overthinking, analysing, and reassurance-seeking don’t calm the body. Stress isn’t a thinking problem it’s a nervous system one.
The solution:
Calm the body first.
When your nervous system settles, the thoughts soften on their own.
Less analysing. More regulation.
4 Never truly resting
Only collapsing at night or resting when you’re completely exhausted doesn’t reset your system. Your body needs intentional recovery.
The solution:
Add short, planned rest into your day even 10–20 minutes.
Not scrolling. Not multitasking. Just real rest.
5 Believing “this is just who I am”
Stress and anxiety aren’t your personality. They’re patterns and patterns can change.
The solution:
Shift the story from identity to state.
Your nervous system is adaptable. With the right inputs, it learns safety again.
