Today was our last summer lunch club.
I look at where we began and how far we have come which has grown into something truly meaningful.
Our mission started with a deep desire to make a difference in our communities, especially for mums from Black and Brown backgrounds. From small gatherings to impactful conversations and support, we’ve come so far in creating a safe, welcoming space.
None of this would be possible without the incredible team of ladies I work with. Strong, compassionate and truly inspiring every step of the way❤️

Today Raham Project received a Civic Award from the mayor
I was truly honoured to be part of this evening and for my amazing team to be recognised for all the hard work we do for the ladies in our community. I am so blessed to work with such an amazing team and I absolutely love my boss . She’s truly been a great beacon of light for all our ladies in the community and I am forever grateful that our paths crossed. Can’t wait to see what the future holds ❤️

Today I had the honour with to perform “the closing bones ceremony” on an amazing new mama and it was a truly amazing experience!
Using warm oils, gentle massage and the sacred rebozo (woven shawls) wrapping technique, we helped her feel held, nurtured and deeply supported.
This beautiful postpartum ritual is rooted in tradition Mexican and other indigenous healing practices. It helps new mothers physically, emotionally and spiritually close the cycle of pregnancy and birth.
Mum expressed how grounding and healing it felt. Witnessing her gratitude reminded me why this work is so powerful and essential for new mothers.

This morning we had a lovely breastfeeding event which took place . The event was very informative and supportive. I met some lovely midwives and breastfeeding specialists who shared valuable advice and how we can support our new mums. Together, we aim to help the community by providing support and education to mothers of all backgrounds, ensuring everyone feels empowered and included on their breastfeeding journey.

I had the privilege of supporting a remarkable mother during the birth of her child. From the moment she shared her birth plan, which included a water birth,I knew it would be a special experience. As her doula, I witnessed her strength and grace throughout the labour process. Despite the intensity of contractions, she remained composed using only gas and air for pain relief. When the time came she entered the pool with a calm determination, embracing the soothing properties of water, as she brought her baby into this world like a true champion. It was a testament to the incredible strength of mothers!
Her acknowledgment was a reminder of the profound impact doulas can have in providing emotional and physical support during childbirth.

Yesterday my client birthed her beautiful baby!
As a doula, I provided support to my client throughout her birth journey. I created a safe and empowering environment, ensuring her needs were met. I offered continuous physical, emotional and informational support, advocating for her birth preferences. Together we navigated the various stages of labour, making informed decisions along the way. I held space for her emotions and reminded her of her inner strength. Ultimately she birthed a beautiful baby girl, and I am grateful to have been part of the journey!❤️

This morning I had the privilege of accompanying my birth client to visit the consultant midwife Gill Harris. What an amazing woman she is!
During our meeting, Gill listened attentively to my clients previous birth experience and patiently addressed her questions, providing much needed answers. Gill took the time to go through a personalised care plan with my client and myself breaking down every aspect. This discussion left my client feeling content and happy, knowing that she will receive great care on her upcoming birth. Recognising the importance of postnatal care, especially in the light of my clients previous traumatic experience, Gill made sure to include comprehensive care provisions in the plan. To further alleviate any concerns, Gill proudly showed us the birth pool which instantly resonated with my clients desire to have a water birth. The reassurance and tranquility that accompanied the opportunity to explore the birthing facilities brought great ease and contentment to my client. After the meeting, my client felt stronger and her anxiety levels had decreased. She is now excited and looking forward to the birth of her baby❤️

I am incredibly proud to share the remarkable journey of my client, a new mother, as she triumphed in birthing her baby. Throughout her labour, she demonstrated an unwavering determination and an admirable commitment to embracing different positions as we discussed. I was in awe of her unwavering resilience and how she persevered through the challenges. Her dedication and hard work was paid off as her baby was brought into the world beautifully. Witnessing her strength and endurance filled me with deep admiration, and I feel immensely honoured to have played a part in supporting her as a doula ❤️

It was great to be working with ❤️
We had some wonderful conversations with health professionals and learnt a lot about all the services out there to help people in Peterborough and Hinchinbrooke.

Today I went to see my first post natal client I had, when the baby was a few days old. Fast forward 14 months later and mum and baby are thriving! Mum is very happy with baby and his development. Mum is in a very happy place mentally and is enjoying her journey of parenthood.
It was lovely to spend the afternoon with them, with mum cooking me a lovely lunch. Each client holds a very special place in my heart and the bond we share is beautiful ❤️
